ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW:

*Mainly heavy commercial electrical construction experience which I began doing in September 1999. Extensive experience on federal installation renovations and new projects mainly aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC, off-and on since 2000. I have also worked aboard Fort A.P. Hill, VA; MCAS New River, NC; MCAS Cherry Point, NC; Shaw Air Force Base, SC; and MCAS Beaufort, SC.

*Have also served as Site Safety and Health Officer, Field Supervisor, Foreman, and Quality Assurance Testing. Have performed associated administrative tasks such as daily reports, obtaining material costs quotes from various vendors and forwarding material requests, material delivery receiving, daily attendance and time rosters, filling-out accident reports, conducting weekly on-site safety meetings, and hiring new employees.

*Lay-out, direct, and install 208/120V and assist installing 480/277V electrical systems per the electrical job prints, job specifications, coordination with other trades and their job prints, and the National Electrical Code in framed and some masonry buildings. Convert metric-scaled prints into standard scale.

*Cooperate and accompany the NAVFAC and other inspecting authority on their walk-throughs and inspections of electrical installation. Identify and correct problems or deficiencies in the electrical installation.

*Properly hand-bend, mount, and run consecutive lengths of EMT, RMC, PVC, and some IMC for wire raceways; use Rigid threading machine and power pony to thread RMC; pull feeder and branch circuit conductors and terminate them in panels, disconnects, motor-rated switches, motors, starters, pumps, boilers, VFDs, AHUs, VAVs, ERUs, FCUs, AC condensers (including split-systems), water heaters, exhaust fans, unit heaters, commercial ceiling fans, some transformers, switch gear (minimal), some explosion-proof devices, large bay-door openers, receptacles (including GFCI, large-conductor receptacles, and floor receptacles), switches (including three-way, four-way, occupancy sensors, and photo-cells), various types of lighting fixtures- including parking-lot lights (I have not raised them or set them), site-lighting, and temporary lighting-, setting meter bases, and erecting service masts; extensive direct burial PVC, some in-slab and duct bank (minimal); some experience hanging and connecting basket and ladder-type cable tray.

*Run conduit, pull cable and conductors, mount and terminate panels (no programming) and devices for fire protection systems. Run conduit and mount back-boxes for telecom/data circuits.

*Run conduit, pull cable and conductors, mount and terminate HVAC control devices (5 months). *Run conduit, pull cable, mount and terminate PLC modules and devices (3 months).

*Run conduit, pull cable, mount and terminate PLC modules and devices (3 months).

*Troubleshoot, diagnose, test, and correct problems in the electrical systems using a digital multimeter and other test devices.

MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE:

I have done maintenance professionally (five months) and on my own home for over 28 years which has included: painting with a roller, brushes, and sprayer (minimal)-exterior, interior, and trim; some carpentry and light framing, including hanging doors, installing locks, and repairing window screens; light plumbing, including repairing drain lines, repairing toilets, and installing new faucets; remove and replace HVAC filters; light sheetrock hanging and finishing; general janitorial and office cleaning; extensive lawn maintenance using gas-mowers and weed-eaters and some landscaping, including using chainsaws, axes, hatchets, hedge-trimmers, sling blades (some people call it a Kaiser blade) and blowers for tree and brush removal; routine automobile maintenance and some repair; light roofing and roof repair; installing and cleaning rain guttering; and extensive electrical system demolition.

*Some residential and industrial electrical construction experience also. My industrial electrical construction experience includes New Boeing Aircraft Plant Expansion project, Charleston, SC; Eldeco. Inc. Also, enforced and applied company, project, and USACE EM-385-1-1 safety standards compliance by electricians and helpers. Also conducted Tool Box Safety Talks. I was on this project for six months, but transferred to Camp Lejeune, NC before its completion due to my wife's medical condition (cancer). I worked there as an electrician from September 2010, until March 2011 when I was assigned to oversee the change orders at the dining facility. This was a multimillion-dollar project, but I do not know the cost of the electrical or fire alarm system installation.

Instruct U.S. Marines at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC in the Military Academic Skills Program. This was an intensive three-week course where I instructed U. S. Marines extensively in Introductory Algebra and Language Arts with some emphasis on Physical Science as well that aided Marines in increasing their ASVAB scores to make a lateral move into a more advanced Military Occupational Specialty upon reenlistment. Administered the pre-TABE test to Marines before the class’s commencement and a post-TABE test at its conclusion. Assigned and graded daily homework in core subjects Mathematics and Language Arts. Kept and recorded a daily attendance and grading record on each student. Thankfully, all Marines showed significant improvement in their TABE scores after taking the class. I also generated and administered tests, graded and recorded test and homework grades, and assisted Marines individually when requested.
