Job Description:

Forming of steel pipes:

1).As Q.C Inspector I ensure that the customer procedure will follow according to INSPECTION & TEST PLAN(ITP).

2.)Next is dimensional measurement using vernier califer to check the outside diameter of pipes and measuring tape for length.

3.)Also I used micrometer for checking the raw materials(Coil).

4.)After I finish the visual and dimensional inspection I conduct the testing which is flattening test for welding.

5.)After the test is done the pipes will continue to the next procedure which is hydrotesting.

6.)After that the pipes will continue to marking area.

7.)Marking process is done the pipes will proceed to packing area.

8.)If,the pipes have defect I put hold card for investigation and make an Non-conformity report(NCR).

And send to engineers for final decision.

*Checking the raw materials before processing in production area.

*Comparing the tally sheet record coming from manufacturer of raw materials and products itself.

*Checking the thickness, width and weights of raw materials.

Loading Inspection:

*Routine check of finish product before delivered in customer.

*Ensuring that all finish products properly organized in delivery vehicles to prevent damages during transit.

*Make an NCR report if have discrepancy or damages during loading.

1.)Galvanizing Process of steel pipes:

a.)For galvanizing process inspection 1st step is to check the zinc coating thickness by using elcometer:

*For ANSI C80.1/UL-6 must be 56microns above for all sizes(1/2”-6”).

*For BS,C,L and M must be 56microns above for all sizes(1/2”-6”).

*And for ASTM A53/SASO-H must be 77microns for all sizes(1/2”-6”).

b.)2nd step for inspection is hammering test for testing the zinc coating must be no flaking/peeling off.

2.)Threading Process Inspection Control:

a.)Threads condition:

*Shall have no:

1.Eccentric Defects

2.Tearing Defects

3.Angle Defects

4.Double Thread Defects

5.Crack Welding

b.)Threads Protection:

*Shall be uniform on cross section and threaded parts.

c.)Sampling and Test Plan:

*Threads of pipes shall be tested randomly as follows:

1.Length of threads

2.Set to ring gauge

3.Set to coupling

4.Thread appearance

5.Thread workmanship

*Frequency of checking must be every 1 hour.

Ater threading process is done the pipes will continue to finishing process.

3.)Finishing Process Inspection Control:

a.)Description:

*Appearance of galvanizing zinc coating.

*Legibility of marking specification.

*Condition of band marking.

*Condition of coupling engage on to pipe.

*End face condition of galvanized pipes.

*Threads condition and appearance.

*Marking specification.

b.)Standard Requirements:

*Shall be cleaned,smooth and free of defects inside and outside.

*Shall be visible to naked eye.

*Shall be legible and uniform without spillage.

*Shall be cleaned and without sharp protrusion in and out.

*Shall be free of burrs and other injurious defects.
