Dear UCSF Recruiters and Leaders,
The purpose of this letter is in support of Dr. Carolle Anne Banville, recently the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and occasionally acting CEO for a Western Healthcare System in CO, Dr. Banville holds PhDs in Leadership, Acute Care and Doctor of Nursing Practice. Dr. Banville is one of the most outstanding and productive members of the CO healthcare system and formerly at the University Hospital system. My bona fides in brief are presented in order adjudicate my evaluation of Dr. Banville.
Briefly, I have spent 30 years in health care, and would like to share my impression of Dr. Banville.
In summary, Dr. Banville has been showing great humility, exhibits an extraordinary intellect and has led successfully many healthcare expenditure and supported academic venues with outstanding outcomes. An example has been most recently the achievement of six trauma designations in different sites as well as JC, CMS, and multiple surveys in less than 2 years for hospital systems in CO. Dr. Banville participates in countless outreach initiatives to educate medical providers in rural settings, writes policies and procedures for the nursing and medical profession regarding ED/trauma/acute care and surgical service lines, and from her collaboration with other executive leaders, greatly enhances the volume of patient visits under her scope. Dr. Banville was also an appointed member of the state of Colorado to re-write trauma rules and sat on many committees to enhance the direction of our CO healthcare status. In addition, she helped receive the first American College of Surgeons designation (while at Anschutz School of Medicine). Dr. Banville sits on hospital boards, brings valuable inputs and visions to enhance efficiency, best practices, and overall credibility to expanding medical centers in the state of Colorado.
As a volunteer for Western’s Slope Department of Health EMS and EMT programs teaching for many years CME credit hours of the science of “OB/GYN Emergencies”, I consulted with Dr. Banville for her production of the Diabetic/Emergency OB Protocols for the State of Colorado. The Advancement Board for the University’s “Rural Tract” has witnessed that she has furthered outreach for Obstetrical care in the State of Colorado.
In my years of being responsible for hundreds of employees, having taught countless residents, fellows and attending’s; I have to this date never met anyone with the breadth and scope of knowledge in Medicine that she possesses.
I know no one more honorable as a health care provider, with the highest standards for integrity and quality care. As an aside, she started a medical/nursing clinic in Uganda and remains the medical director – she oversees a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal care and services. She is tireless, indefatigable an extraordinary athlete and can accomplish all through intellect, hard work, dedication, and from her ability to draw from a multitude of medical facets.
Dr. Banville’s presence is extremely valuable and I simply wish to bring to your attention one of the finest employees I have met in my career. She goes to extraordinary means to improve quality, silently brings in revenue and has taught to produce that which here to fore, has yet to be acknowledged. It is her passion and she is with boundless energy to achieve all that she seeks to achieve.
Thank you for the time you have taken to read this brief synopsis, and if I may be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Sincerely,
Steven H. Lewis, MD
