NOTE: My contract was terminated September 2020 when Akola project ceased the NGO programs and incorporated into Akola Project PBC LIMITED, a profit making company.

POSITION – OPERATIONS MANAGER

I was involved in providing daily logistical support and management

Overview

Akola project Uganda, is an International non-profit making Organization which is engaged in empowering marginalized women socially and economically, and to transform their lives and the communities in Northern Uganda Pajule district and Jinja district.

Specific Duties

Ensure compliance with NGO governing laws of Uganda and the District Local Authorities and the NGO forum.

Oversee all work registration including work permits for foreign staff and organization compliance.

Manage and maintain day to day operational function of the office, programs, logistics and policies

Fleet management, Vehicle maintenance and transportation of official visitors and staff.

Engage, supervise and coordinate external hired transport service providers and coordinate all logistical needs for the company.

Liaise and maintain a good supplier relationship with approved suppliers.

Ensure a proper management of stores and materials availability for production, office supplies and timely shipment of products to Dallas USA.

Manage and supervise support staff (Drivers, cooks and cleaners) to ensure the overall good work place environment.

Effective coordination of logistics for all staff in the field, upcountry projects and head office.

Ensure security of all project sites and offices and coordinate hired security companies to ensure safety of office premises and employees.

Plan and manage periodic operations budget.

Estates maintenance- Ensure constant supply of electricity, water, internet service and maintenance of all office equipment and furniture.

Achievements

I have established a fuel usage mileage tracker alongside the vehicle logbook which greatly minimized fuel expenses and eliminated vehicle misuse by drivers.

I initiated and established fully fledged supply chain department and system and introduced stock management records thus minimizing financial loss attributed to pilferage and stores wastage.

I have created awareness of supply policies and established a list of service and logistics suppliers.

I have promoted Team work through sharing of knowledge, and also improved the organizations relationship with District local Authorities and stake holders like the labor office and the District Health offices and NGO governing authorities.

2.MARCH 2015 TO MARCH 2017: INTERNATIOINAL JUSTICE MISSION UGANDA

POSITION – CLERICAL OFFICER

I was involved in giving clerical support to the organizations attorneys concerning courts of Judicature of Uganda, the Administrator Generals office, the ministry of Justice and the lands registry.

Overview

International Justice Mission is a legal Aid nonprofit making organization advocating and fighting property grabbing in Uganda. In particular it fights against property/ land grabbing from Orphans and Widows in Northern Uganda and central Uganda.

Specific Duties

Open files for all clients

File court cases and follow up on the court process

Register and process land tittles

Support the office Administrator with coordinating transport for clients and the attorneys and vehicle maintenance.

Track file movement and update records accordingly.

Payment of taxes and legal fees

Process and or renew work permits for foreign employees.

Liaise with community leaders and NGO forum, Magistrates and land registrars

Give logistical support to the aftercare team and coordinate community meetings.

Photocopy all office documents and keep files safe.

Drive Attorneys to the respective courts of law.

POSITION - DRIVER

Overview

Uganda Industrial Research Institute is Uganda Government’s lead agency for industrialization, established by an Act of Parliament of Uganda under the auspices of the ministry of tourism, Trade and Industry (MTT). It is the country’s main vehicle for implementing strategies and measures aimed at transforming industry in Uganda.

As a driver I was involved in transporting institute staff within Kampala and upcountry.

Specific Duties

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and keep all valuables in the car safe.

Deliver letters and any other office related items and support the administration with town errands.

Coordinate with the transport manager and accounts department to ensure that the vehicle is serviced, maintained and repaired promptly.

Driver all field staff and Directors on official duties and assignments.
