SUMMARY of SERVICES PROVIDED/KSAs:

I am the former CEO for the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes in Duck Valley supervising (7) divisions and 277 employees; prior to that post I was the Deputy Executive Director of the Hopi Tribe supervising 400 employees with (13) Division Directors. Another leadership position I have held at the executive level was the Director/tribal liaison for the Office of American Indian Health with the New Mexico State Department of Health for (7) years, in this position I provided health/allied health technical assistance to (22) Tribes, Nations and Pueblos and sat by proxy for the Cabinet Secretary of Health for the State of New Mexico Indian Affairs Tribal Infrastructure Board that provided infrastructure loans once a year for major development projects to the tribes. In the spirit of Health, I have run an FQHC for the Alamo Navajo Indian Health board as the Health Director, and have worked in the health/allied health profession for over 25 years for the Tribes, Nations and Pueblos in various capacities. I have served as a tribal liaison for the State of New Mexico for (7) years, also as a Tribal Liaison for ACF in Region IX in Denver. There is a special skill outside of my doctorate training that one gets from their professional hands-on-experience, I am grateful to have learned that as a tribal liaison and really value those skills in developing partnerships’, collaborations and serving as an agency ambassador with the tribes, nations, pueblos and off reservation groups. I am a seasoned and trained practitioner (Therapist) and provider of services, as a clinical provider I have worked with dual-diagnosis, poly-substance use, PTSD and emotional disorders. I have worked in Corrections for several years as the psychologist supervisor at the Youth diagnostic and Development Center in this capacity I supervised a small TEAM of therapist conducting evaluations and crisis interventions in (3) cottages; I also was the psychologist supervisor at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Community (former state hospital) supervising psychologist and served as the State of New Mexico expert witness on SEI clients. I have also worked for the Navajo Nation Indian Health Service as a supervisory child/ren psychologist and held this same post at the Pine-ridge Indian Hospital in Pine-ridge South Dakota. As the former Director/Tribal Liaison for the NMDOH Office of American Indian Health, I worked collaboratively with all 22 Tribes, Nations and Pueblos in dealing with the Bird Flu, Ebola and H1N1 as well as a Agency Team member with the annual plans to distribute the influenza vaccines to the tribes in New Mexico. As the current Director of the Zuni Tribe Social Service Program, I am working with my TEAM as essential workers providing TA to families, children and the courts on abuse and neglect in dealing with COVID-19. In the spirit of working with diversity with homeless, destitute addicted and inebriated folks I have worked case management with Life Link as the Santa Fe County Navigator with folks being released from prison and the Santa Fe adult jail as well as worked with the Goodwill as a case 2

manager with Supportive Services for Veterans and their families with Rapid rehousing and crisis management; I have also worked 14 years in security across the southwest United States. I am currently the Director of Social Service for the Zuni Tribe in New Mexico. I supervise a TEAM of (10) professionals dealing with child and elder abuse. Professionally I have earned my doctorate in clinical/counseling psychology (allied health) from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program from the University of North Dakota. I have utilized this Professional Doctorate degree with my expertise as an administrator of programs (Tribal CEO, Deputy Executive Director, Director of and FQHC Clinic), as a child psychologist, therapist, as a policy expert, and front-line worker in the trenches across all ethnic groups and communities (Federal, State, Tribal, County, -Private), I have also taught at various colleges in the South West for the past 14 years. Let me tell you about my overall knowledge, skills and abilities and why I am highly qualified for this position, I have many quality experiences and skills in administration (executive, health and allied health services), policy, grants/contract management, research, and teaching/instruction and education. I have over 30 years of training the trainer leadership skills, which I have found effective in the work place and with working with Federal, State, Local and Tribal entities. I adhere to strict standards on working with diversity, HIPPA and TEAM work. Holding the TEAM accountable for their duties and responsibilities is an important ethical value that I adhere to. I consider myself well organized and a productive and efficient “multi-tasker.” For 9 years I served as senior management as the Director/Tribal Liaison of the Office of American Indian Health with the Department of Health for the State of New Mexico.

SUMMARY of PROFESSIONAL & RESEARCH PROJECTS:

1. Currently I am the Director of Social Service working with child abuse and elder abuse in Zuni Pueblo. I have been in Behavioral Health as a psychologist, a master level therapist, both inpatient and out-patient for many years. I am the former school psychologist for Central Consolidated Schools in Special Ed who has worked in the Navajo Nation as well as diversity off the reservation. 2. CEO for Shoshone-Paiute Tribe, Deputy Executive Director for the Hopi Tribe. 3. Appointed by former State Governor Martinez and Cabinet Secretary of Health Retta Ward to be part of the State Team to analyze all Children and Family services and make recommendations to the Governor on State Children’s services in New Mexico. 4. The Zuni Tribe Social Service Director acts in a key supportive leadership role within the Zuni Tribe Health & Human Services Division my primary responsibility is the oversight of the Tribe's Family and Social Services. As the Director I provide guidance and over-sight to (10) staff workers in planning Family and Social Services strategies, goals, initiatives and structure in alignment with the Tribe's values and vision. As the Director I act on behalf of the Tribe as the facilitator of both the Child Protection Team and Adult Protective Services and I am in-charge of establishing protocols for the Teams and for staffing cases brought forward. -As the Case Manager I work with diversity and work with an array of VA service agencies such as Veteran’s Administration programs, and other Veteran serving organizations to prevent homelessness, and facilitate shelter placement when appropriate.

-As the Case Manager I utilize a Housing First approach to provide low-barrier services designed to facilitate rapid exit from shelter when possible through creative housing planning with Veterans.

-I use a community wide collaborative project model that requires a high level of cooperation and team work among program staff and community partners in our effort to prevent and end Veteran homelessness quickly.

-I serve as the Coordinated Intake specialist, which is the primary gateway to emergency shelter and homeless services for newly homeless individuals and families in two New Mexico Counties Valencia and Torrance County.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This Navigator is part of the Santa Fe County’s Accountable Health Community (AHC). Navigators assist individuals who may have limited health literacy, behavioral health issues, or other challenges to access community services and resources that they need to be healthy. In particular, this Navigator works with clients released from the SF County Detention Center (and possibly, the State Penitentiary) with multiple incarcerations coupled with behavioral health needs.

-As a navigator I provide initial needs assessment for individuals with multiple criminal justice system contacts who were recently released from jail.

-Provide moderately complex case management and rehabilitative skills training services to clients. Responsibilities include planning and linking needs to community resources and following up with referral sources to ensure identified needs are addressed; and development and provision of Rehab skills training to facilitate community integration. The scope and intensity of the case management service will vary from client to client depending on each client’s special needs, including transportation services when appropriate. Case management will be carried out within the context of on-going assessment, care and/or treatment planning, and monitoring.

-Develop rich sources of referral: offer alternatives to the individual’s current living situation; inform clients of the availability of health care, mental health, and substance abuse services; assist them in accessing needed services and provide ongoing emotional support and follow-up.

-Develop and maintain contact with client families (as necessary) and service providers for medical, social, educational, substance abuse and related service needs.

-Help coordinate client support services to meet basic needs by helping clients obtain safe, affordable, and permanent housing, assuring access to treatment services, providing crisis assistance, identifying educational and employment options, and developing a social support network. -Supervises subordinate employees to include: assignment and review of work, performance evaluation, annual work plans, employee development (training), disciplinary action, and executing hiring and termination decisions.

-Practices and promotes a team approach to management and ensures accountability throughout the workplace.

-Meets with the Tribal Business Council in regular and special meetings to provide information and/or reports regarding Tribal operations, services, and programs.

-Advises the Tribal Business Council in their deliberations on planning, policies, and/or laws/ordinances. Ensures consistency in policy
