• FINAL PROJECT – “Experimental Investigation of Aluminium 7071 Alloy Welded joints by Friction Stir Welding.” – Here 5 mm thick Al 7071 plates were joined successfully with four different traverse speed (from 1 mm/s to 4 mm/s) by friction stir welding (FSW). Other process parameters were kept constant such as tool rotational speed (TRS) 600 rpm and tool tilt angle (TTA) 1.5 during FSW. This research works aims to identify the ability of the Al 7071 (90 wt.%) to acquire hardness and resistance to wear. Mechanical and physical properties such as hardness, ultimate tensile strength, wear resistance and impact strength were evaluated on all the developed composites.
