Oversaw the training and rollout of new state of the art POS registers and symbol based auto-replenishment systems in all stores. Reduced shrink, inventory levels and increased customer service scores in the district after installation of Rite Aid office systems.

CVS Pharmacy, Atlanta, GA. 1998 to 2004

District Manager

Managed day-to-day operations for twenty retail drug stores in northwest Georgia. Drove sales and increased profits to a high last year of 14.8% of sales. Sales volume for the district averaged seventy-five million per year.

Recognized as one of the first districts to complete the new pharmacy service initiative which decreased wait times for pharmacy customers from more than twenty minutes to fifteen minutes or less.

Directed and completed training for all store management in phases 1, 2, and 3.

Reduced front store inventory shrinkage from 2.6% to 1.5% of sales.

Rite Aid Corporation, Seattle, WA. 1993 to 1998

Regional Manager

Served as a district manager for three years over twenty stores in Kentucky and Tennessee and was promoted to regional manager when Rite Aid acquired the Thrifty/Payless chain in December of 1996. Based in Seattle and covering one hundred twenty stores in western Washington and Alaska, I directed a staff of fifteen, which included district and pharmacy managers, loss prevention, human resource, and merchandisers. Sales volume for the region averaged over nine million per week with 51% being generated by the pharmacy.

Successfully directed the transition from Payless to Rite Aid through employee training, installation of new POS registers and pharmacy computers and rollout of automated inventory replenishment systems.

Increased sales in the beer and wine categories by 24% through implementation of new plannograms based on sales history and store demographics.

Developed a pharmacy technician training program with state accreditation that decreased employee turnover in the pharmacy departments by 40%.

Reliable Drug Stores, Nashville, TN. 1987 to 1993

Regional Manager

Began as a store manager with Revco Drugstores and advanced to district manager when Reliable Drugs purchased the Revco stores in several states. The promotion to regional manager came two years later and with it responsibility for 140 stores in four states. The responsibilities were very similar to CVS and Rite Aid.

Initiated weekly payroll reporting systems for a savings of $125,000 during first year.

Completed deals to purchase four independent drugstores that added 2.5 million in sales to region per year.
