2.Computer Generated Ordering (CGO) for a leading retail giant, United States

Duration: Jan 2008– Apr 2012

The client is a Grocery Chain having stores across US and Canada. Previously client’s store orders were created manually within each store without critical information confirming current in-store inventory levels or forecast quantities necessary to cover upcoming sales demand. This process results in an unbalanced inventory with a large number of out of stock items and lost sales revenue.

CGO is an application that replaces the manual store ordering process for a retailer with the automated ordering system. In CGO, orders will be forecasted by SAF by considering the critical information such as sales characteristics of the item, stock available, upcoming promotions, upcoming price changes etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a team member I was involved in

Developing the jobs for capturing the daily sales and stock changes

Developing the jobs which will send the inputs to the SAF for forecasting the orders and the loading jobs which will load the output order file to Teradata database.

Developing the real-time jobs for loading/updating the OOIT table which keep the track of all the orders placed by the stores.

3.Just 4 U Next Gen, for a leading retail giant, United States

Just 4 U Next Gen is an online application which provides registered customers with a single view of all the promotions/offers,digital coupons, personalized offers and reward programs available at the store. Additionally, this will enable the client to target specific card holders and produce them offers based on their purchase history. Users will be able to view the offers and add them to their club card for automatic redemption in store or online.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assisted in building the ETL source to Target specification documents by understanding the business requirements

Developed Informatica mappings that perform Extraction, Transformation and load of source data into Derived Masters schema using various power center transformations like Source Qualifier, Aggregator, Filter, Router, Sequence Generator, look up, Rank, Joiner, Expression, Stored Procedure, SQL, Normalizer and update strategy to meet business logic in the mappings.

Developed IBM Datastage parallel jobs that perform Extraction, Transformation and load of source data into Derived Masters schema.

Created Post UNIX scripts to perform operations like gunzip, remove and touch files

Analyzed error table entries and resolved related issues.
