As a result of these experiences I have acquired the skill and ability to make decisions and lead a group of people towards a common goal.

Making sure with my team that the operation ran effectively and efficiently.

Ensuring that the budget vs actual was achieved and corresponded with the BOQ.

Ensuring that the year to date figures was maintained and that we were making a profit.

Maintaining that the necessary production was achieved as per the ghantt chart / mile stones and that it was in line with the progressive forecast requirement.

Quality and accuracy received a huge amount of attention so as to achieve what was set out by the client and maintained.

Making sure that the stock and hardware was ordered timeously and was available to do the job.

When it came to the hiring of plant and equipment I made sure that we had enough equipment on site as per the plant and equipment histogram to do the job at hand to achieve maximum production, but also negotiating the best possible rate to allow for more profit.

I saw to it that the site and the employees conformed to the H&S requirements set out by the main contractor and the client (Eskom).

Staff compliment was in line with the organogram.

I did all the investigations as per the requirements needed.

Achievements

This company supplied only PVC piping I took the initiative of selling valves, manhole rings, water meters and PVC bends as a package deal. Once the water reticulation and the sewer net was in, I then proceeded in supplying all the plumbing that went with the houses which were being built, following on from that I then introduced some of the building material for the houses. This pushed the sales of my branch well over the budget vs. target. For this initiative I was awarded the most revolutionary branch manager of the year 2005 out 23 branches.

Responsibilities

• Meeting sales targets by servicing existing clients and canvassing for new clients and marketing the product to improve industry awareness of quality and gain market share.

• Maintenance of accounts for building merchants and the mining industry by ensuring all service levels were met.

Daily Responsibilities as Branch Manager:

• 8 reports including internal sales, debtors and creditors clerk, store men, and sales representatives. (Target R21m)

• Responsible for ensuring that the monthly target vs. the monthly budget was met and that the branch ran at a profit.
