PROJECT DETAILS

Title : Simulation of arc welding by using Moto sim EG17

Description : Arc welding is a fusion welding process used to join metals. An electric arc from an AC or DC

power supply creates an intense heat of around 6500 F which melts the metal at the join between

two work pieces. The arc can be either manually or mechanically guided along the line of the

join, while the electrode either simply carries the current or conducts the current and melts into

the weld pool at the same time to supply filler metal to the join. Technical innovations in robotic

welding and greater availability of sensor-based control features have enabled manual welding

processes in harsh work environments with excessive heat and fumes to be replaced with robotic

welding. The current trend for robotics arc welding applications in these categories is reviewed.

Results show that developments in robotics application are affected by a lot of factors such as

speed, flexibility, mobility, compactness, navigation, localization, and mobile platform. Highly

developed system with characteristics of effective human decision making became favourable

and has initiated an interesting intervention since the system is controlled by complicated neural

network brain. In this project, the Implementation and Simulation of an arc welding on robots by

using software of MotosimEG17 is presented. Robotics applications in industry have shown

incredible growth to the bright future. This shows how the robot is modeled and the description

of the mechanism is given. The way in which the welding path is designed given the spatial

trajectory and arc welding conditions is described. The welding, geometric and dynamic

parameters define the essential Simulation program in MotosimEG17, to optimize the mechanism

and satisfy the constraints.
