MAJOR PROJECT COMPLETED:

Title : An experimental study on the effects of micro silica, grit and asbestos powder with filler as partial replacement on bitumino- ous paving mixes.

Short Summary : The needs are increasing in one’s life and the transportation has become one of the major problem in the city as well as in rural areas. Traffic volume and number of heavy vehicles have been increasing day-by-day, so it is very necessary to provide strong and durable pavements. The existing roads are not sufficient to resist the impact loading of heavy vehicles. Therefore, to overcome such problems, we have gone through some of the experimental investigation on the bitumen to enhance the property like strength and durability of bitumen by innovative material which has not been used till now like flash, paper ash, dolomite, silica & magnesium chloride in the proportion of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% simultaneously, so that we could enhance the property of bitumen which could strengthen and increase the durability of road pavement. Through this project we have used biodegradable material which are eco-friendly and cost effective. This modified bitumen mix enhance the various properties of bitumen and filler properties which are discussed in this paper. PERSONAL INFORMATION:
