Materials Engineer (March 2021 – April 2021)

RTConsults – Houston, Tx

Full-service independent corrosion and non-metallic materials engineering and inspection firm (QA/QC) specializing in fiber reinforced plastics (fiberglass), coatings, fireproofing and chemical resistant masonry.

Performed ASME RTP-1 field inspections of FRP materials and vessels from design to completion at manufacturing facilities. After completion, monitored the field installation of said components to successful installation.

Created detailed reports of inspections performed for the purpose of updating clients through all processes.

Completed API-653 inspections on above ground storage tanks by means of dry film testing and holiday testing.

Assisted lab technician to simulate time lapse of outside exposure to coatings by utilizing Q-FOG and UV machinery.

Leave of absence (Full-time care giver for family member) (January 2019 – February 2021)

Mechanical Engineer (July 2016 – December 2018)

Pond and Company – The Woodlands, Tx

Full-service Architecture and Engineering firm providing consulting, design, inspection and construction services for Oil & Gas terminals, pipelines, rail, marine and other facilities.

GT Gulfway Terminal, Howard Energy Partners - Port Arthur, TX

Designed a storage facility for Gasoline, ULSD, Butane, and MTBE tank to tank transfers (7,500 bbl/hr), barge loading (15,000 bbl/hr), and tank to pipeline transfers (7,500 bbl/hr).

Created Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, isometric spool drawing sets, and detailed mechanical drawing packages (IFR/IFB/IFC).

Designed valve manifold, piping (B31.4, DOT 195), line sizing, and routing for product transport.

Modeled hydraulics/system curves using AFT Impulse, pipe stress analysis (Caesar II), and pipe supports selection.

Maintained equipment and instrumentation tracking lists.

Selected and sized specialty items such as strainers, pig traps, butane internal valves (NFPA 58), turbine meters, Flow Control Valves (FCV), Pressure Control Valves (PCV), and large Pressure Safety Valves (PSV).

Reviewed interdisciplinary drawing packages, clients drawing packages, and working models.

Procured materials for the project and prepared the Bill of Materials (BOM).

API 510 Similar Service Study, Enterprise Products - Mont Belvieu, TX

Researched Deisobutanizer and Fractionation system components to determine overall system component similarity for the purpose of reducing inspection requirements.

Significantly decreased number of man-hours for inspections by eliminating redundancy, non-essential components, and the consolidation of documentation. Reduced lifetime operating costs of the facility.

OMES Manual Updating, Bhate Environmental - Birmingham, AL

Conducted on-site evaluation and survey of fuel storage facilities located at Point Loma, San Diego and Pearl Harbor/Hickam Airfield, Honolulu.
