I began my career in the hospitality industry in year 1987 at Riverina Hotel. From there I joined Mount Lavaina and moved Taj Samudra, Eden Resorts respectively. In 1996 I moved to overseas to take up a stint at Dubai Grand Hotel – Best Western Hotels as a Room Dinning & All Day Dinning in charge. Latter, I Joined Le meridian hotel as an Assistant Manager for Three food & Beverage outlets consisting of Antigo / Yalumba, Pearl Bar, Gormandizes .
In year 2008 November I Joined Grand Hotel in the capacity of Food & Beverage Manager, Year 2013 October I was promoted as an assistant Manager, over the ten years I have been working in Dubai, of which three and half years has been at Le Meriden Dubai. However, I must say that one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences is that I have worked with over twenty different nationalities from all parts of the world.
I am a member of the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association and holds its “Licentiate Member’ [LCHSGA]. Also served as the Vice President of the Snooker & Billiard Association of Sri Lanka during 2010/2011 and also served as a Vice President, Development Committee Chairman /of Nuwara-Eliya Cricket Association from 2009 to 2015 Presently Function as Secretary of Nuwara-Eliya Cricket association & Assistant Treasure @ Central Province in Sri Lanka Cricket
For me, working in the hospitality trade is not about what position I am, though how I can be there always at a front line contact with customers, to see the appreciation and satisfaction on their faces when they receive a standard of service which is second to none.
