Job Title: CWI / QA, Field Inspector

Duties: Field inspections which include but not limited to, final walk down of piping systems, with the QC contractor companies, for acceptance on the client side. Witnessed all hydros on piping spools and reviewed all NDE for acceptance according to piping specs. Made sure all bolting make ups were according to client specs and applicable codes. VT on final welds to ensure no defects were present on. Review x-ray film for defects in welds. Random spot checks on piping spool dimensions for accurate fit ups. Measured pits on external pipe to determine if piping spools need to be replaced. If spools need to be replaced then I will write a report requesting the work to be done and submitting the report to the client for acceptance. Did random walk thrus of the piping lay down yard to ensure all pipes were covered on both ends, piping was of the ground, and all stainless steel was being stored away from carbon steel pipes. Randomly checked on the contractor’s weld rods to ensure all rods were being stored properly and at the rights temperatures. Randomly checked welders as they welded to ensure all were certified and following all approved welding specs. Insulation was also inspected at the end on the job to ensure all were properly installed. Meet with the clients on a weekly bases to give a quality update of the jobs progress.

Job Title: CWI / QA-QC-1, Field Inspector

Job Site(s): Sunoco Energy Logistics, Orbit Project, Nederland, TX

Duties: Field inspections which include, but not limited to, VT on all final welds according to the client and S&B’s approved welding specs. Set up any NDE that may be associated with the piping specs. Monitor welders, pre heat, travel speed and amperage during normal welding activities. Verify welding map and weld numbers with the weld log and line numbers to assure the correct weld spec is being applied. Audit the weld rod room and rod attendant every week. As a field inspector I also visually inspect the concrete forms according to the drawings and specs provided by the company. A visual inspection is done to ensure that all non-organic material and any foreign debris are removed from the area before the concrete pour. I oversee that electrical ground cables are in place and secured before the concrete pour. I make sure all bolts on the pedestals are the correct size and securely tied down before the concrete is poured. Verify that all rebar is the correct dimensions and size according to the specs provided. I look over paperwork that provides the sump testing and monitor the concrete temperatures as it is being poured as well as while it is drying/hardening. A visual is also done on any epoxy grout that is done on bolt holes or under compressor base plates. I witness final torques on all torqued flanges, above and underground. A final inspection is done on bolt ups to verify the correct gaskets, bolts, flanges, and valves are installed. I also witness any and all hydro test that may be done on the piping. I review packages to ensure all NDE has been done to any underground piping before it is buried in the ground. I also witness a jeep holiday test on all underground piping. I sign off on the skid more impact testing on impact guns and bolts. Visually inspect fireproofing and base plate grouting before and after it is applied. I am also familiar with walking down piping systems for buy off paint and insulation. I also fill out preventive quality maintenance reports on equipment being offloaded from truck trailers and being stored at the laydown yards. I also check for any damages or defects that the equipment might have suffered during transportation. Involved with mill wrights crew as they center line all equipment when being set on the pedestals. Final visual inspection with mill wrights when they line up pump shafts and final shim the base of the pumps. Once all equipment is set on the pedestals a visual is done to ensure that all grout, bolts, shim plates, center line and plumb are all according to drawings and specs provided. Visual inspections are also done on all piping spools bolt ups to ensure all gaskets and bolts are correct. Final walk downs of all system packages are presented to the client for final sell off.
