Professional Cover Letter

I am pleased to submit my application for the position with DaVita. I am a RN BSN graduate with over two years of clinical experience as a nursing student. My professional and academic experiences have developed my ability to give individualized, compassionate, and quality care, while allowing the person to feel a sense of dignity and contribution to their wellbeing and treatment.

I have continuously pursued opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in my time in nursing school. Despite COVID-19 reducing the exposure to hands-on clinical involvement during a few of my clinical rotations, I learned to adapt and further acquired knowledge of different methods on providing health care assistance, ranging from health screenings, assessments, and tele-health assistance. I was lucky enough to be able to have the full medical surgical, telemetry, and emergency room experience during my clinical hours, and am grateful to have had that opportunity to practice the skills and day to day activities required for bedside nursing. Because of my previous degree in kinesiology, I was able to gain volunteering experience with both physical and occupational therapists, and this coupled with my current work in the behavioral therapy field has shown me variety of care that a patient may be going through and the importance of collaborating with the different health care professional to give the patient the most holistic and highest quality of care.

I pride myself on being an organized, calm, and professional individual with a passion for providing quality and compassionate care to patients. Working directly with patients is something I have done for over seven years; I enjoy it because it truly feels like you are making a difference in a person’s life and are in one way or another making the world a little better. Although this experience was in the behavioral therapy setting, I believe that many of the one-on-one patient interaction skills like listening, compromising, adjusting behaviors, educating, and assessing changes in behavior and attitude are adaptable to the bedside nursing position. Having gained experience in promoting better health, I believe my Bachelor of Science degree, as well as my previous experience with different therapies, ranging from occupational to behavioral, in addition to my extensive experience working with the challenges of clinical nursing, makes me a strong candidate for the nursing position at DaVita. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss further requirements for this position at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Arthur Kubko RN, BSN

Letter of intent

Throughout my experiences both personal and professional I have had the opportunity to see individuals, and myself, go through different stages of life, with both low and high point. These different situations have allowed me to better work with and help people that may be going through difficult times and bring about a sense of compassion and understanding. I believe that this is an integral part of being a nurse, to understand that people may not be at their best, in a vulnerable situation, and that you are there to help them. Nursing care is mostly thought of as the medical process of giving medication, monitoring labs, and so on, but I believe that the person is a much more complex being. The individual needs to be treated and assessed on many levels including physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual. It is when the patient is care for in a holistic manner, and all aspects are being properly addressed can we give the highest level of care.

I have been through varies educational programs, having a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology, classes for behavioral and psychological sciences, and now a Bachelor of Science of nursing, I have a solid grasp of what kind of learner I am, and how I can maneuver different environments, different personalities, teaching styles, and attitudes to make the best of the situation. I am an eager and studious individual and am excited to start this new career. I also believe that each of my previous educations and many years in the behavioral therapy field have helped shape a well-rounded and more understanding student, and caretaker.

At the end of the day, we are here for a service for the patient and providing that service in the caring, but also effective and holistic manner is key particularly in the nursing field. It would be an honor to lay the foundation of my nursing career and building up my framework at the DaVita. The early education and practice are critical time of developing any new knowledge and skills, learning it the right way the first time will be extremely beneficial for not only me as a nurse but for all my future patients as well. From what I have seen and learned about your establishment it is a prime example of an educational and friendly environment, that is there for the patients and the works alike. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Arthur Kubko RN, BSN
