MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT

· Responsible for project planning and management in dynamic environments, leading skilled trades teams and stakeholder management for complex facility maintenance projects in diverse environments from an FDA-certified veterinary lab to complex manufacturing environments in a variety of GM facilities. Projects include large plant and equipment rearrangements involving disassembly, movement and reassembly of equipment in short timeframes with no impact on production.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING, DIMENSIONAL ENGINEERING, QUALITY ENGINEERING

· Launch Team Manager for tooling and manufacturing processes for GM assembly facility in Orion, MI for Buick Park Avenue. Responsibilities included tooling design and approval, monitoring of the tooling build process and tooling construction buyoff. Developed tooling quality guidelines including materials to be used, serviceability and adjustability. Managed tooling tryout to assess production readiness, movement of tools to production site and integration of tools into production environment. Ultimate responsibility to ensure tools met production standards for employee safety, function, product quality, and production line rate. Utilized formal engineering education, and experience as a Journeyman Diemaker/Machinist, Reliability/Quality Engineer and my training in ASQ, Unigraphics, AutoCad, Project Management, Problem Solving and Lean/Six Sigma. Interface with diverse groups including skilled and production employees, vendors, engineers and executives.

· Senior Project Engineer responsible for retooling the Body Shop at Orion, MI assembly facility to change from manufacture of Buick Park Avenue to Pontiac G6. Responsible for engineering decisions, planning and implementation of product changeover including budget, manpower, resources while ensuring no loss of production of the current model during the changeover. Leading a team of 50 employees, accomplished this project without any interruption to Park Avenue production. The Pontiac G6 was up to full line rate producing quality bodies on the same day the Park Avenue ceased production. Interface with diverse groups including skilled and production employees, vendors, engineers and executives.
