Strategic person that provides guidance that support efficient, effective and environmentally friendly use and management of the array of transport and fleet of farm machinery of diverse Technology specifications including ensuring timely availability of necessary and appropriate transport and machinery required to support various institutional activities. My contribution has ensured standard use, calibration and adherence of various tools to meet necessary performance and safety requirements attributed to use and functionality of equipment. To this end has ensured reliability of fleet of transport and machinery that meets and comply with necessary national engineering and Zambian laws. As part of my mandate has included guaranteeing that all institutional transport and machinery is kept properly maintained at all times supported by repair and maintenance tracking record and schedule.
Additional responsibilities have included, ensuring maintenance of updated records with respect to vehicle service and repairs, maintenance and securing transport and machinery toolkit, including ensuring that all transport and machinery fleet has a well stocked first Aid Kits and fire extinguisher. Ensured effective coordination in use of transport and machinery by facilitating appropriate allocation to respective sections in line respective needs, effective and efficient use of transport and machinery, efficient and reliable maintenance of transport and machinery fleet records. This has been key in enabling effective and efficient operation, repair and maintenance workshop commitments, maintenance of reliable records of fuel, lubricant and spare parts stock availability and use, ensured security for transport and machinery fleet. Further my responsibilities have ensured that efficient monitoring of transport and machinery use adherence to operational guidelines supported by relevant documentation and records in a transparent and accessible manner. This constituted an important function, enabling cleanliness of transport and machinery fleet, adherence to safety regulations, security for all transport Participated and oversaw planning maintenance schedules for all constructions machineries and vehicles condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Maintained Earth moving equipment ready for use by doing précised services on the machines; replacement of needed spare parts and parts improvement, prevention of corrosion as well as normalization of various machineries by repairing, overhauling, assembly and adjusting, overhauling engines of different earth equipment and construction heavy duty engines. Valve interval adjustment on heavy duty machines, hydraulic interval service and repair.
Ensured use and knowledge transfer of use of calibrations tools like filler gauge, micrometer screw gauge, veneer caliper etc. Carried out routine certification of vehicle performance by conducting test drives in a manner that complied with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Ensured that vehicles were properly maintained and in clean and orderly manner. This was extended in undertaking maintenance of shop equipment with special attention on operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. My contribution ensured consideration of costs parameters by use of warranty; evaluating service and parts options. Further Kept supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt. Was also responsible for encouraging skills sets development among workers as a way to remain abreast with new technology of machineries and requirements. Driving Long distances if needed to tackle different projects errands when needed.
