University of Alabama at Birmingham December 2020-Present Tutor Program Coordinator and Academic Success Coach
• Manages a team of 15-30 student tutors. This includes hiring the tutors, scheduling their hours, conducting payroll, and training them regularly.
• Designed and implemented CRLA Certification Training Levels 1-3 for all tutors, as well as created an asynchronous online training format to provide more flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Communicates with various campus departments to promote the tutoring program and collaborate on projects related to student success, such as freshman orientation, workshops, and class visits.
• Regularly meets with students who are at risk of losing their financial aid. This includes creating academic success plans for each student, holding regular check-in meetings throughout the semester, and referring university resources.
• Transitioned all of our academic success workshops to an asynchronous virtual format.
