QUANTITY SURVEYOR 04/2019 - Current

Rodpaul Construction t/a Rods Construction - Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal Working as a Junior Quantity surveyor coordinating multiple building sites, with various scopes from Alterations, refurbishments and additions to Construction of new projects. Managing communication between role players, drafting and reviewing of key documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing construction projects including Construction of Schools; Fire-station; Alterations to Police Stations and various other buildings.

• Procurement of materials and services, liaising and negotiating with Sub-contractors in a manner to control project costs and quality.

• Contractually appointing both domestic and labour-only sub-contractors and management of such thereafter

• Assisting in providing commercial, financial and contractual support for all projects

• Preparing draft valuations of work done on site

• Preparation of contractual claims e.g. EOTs etc.

• Accurately update and maintain the project related documents and records on an on-going basis

• Programming Projects to estimate and establish time frames of required works and procurement requirements

• Measuring both on and off-site for both procurement and payment purposes

• Collecting of site and sub-contractor certificates together with sub-contractor reconciliation and retention management

• Preparation of tender requirements e.g. programs, methodologies, local content. As well as tender cost adjudication
