I then advanced to Quality Improvement Coordinator 1 and worked to solve participants grievances through a scheduled hearings. My role in quality improvement was to prepare nursing summaries from provided information and medical records related to the declined or reduced item such as home modifications, medications, x-rays, personal assistance hours, dental issues, etc and present that summary at a scheduled grievance hearing.

Originally my employment with Centene started in the Prior Authorization Department. My role in Prior Authorization was to prepare nursing summaries from provided information and medical records related to the items that the participant was requesting such as home modifications, medications, x-rays, personal assistance hours, dental issues, etc and present that summary to one of Centene's Medical Directors for a determination. After a determination was made, the nurse or the meeting coordinator would send a letter of determination to the participant.
