Stay-at-Home Parent
For the past 5 years I have been a stay-at-home mother to my son and daughter. Now, eager to return to pursuing a full-time career in that time. I have been home I have picked up the following skills:
Time Management Skills:
I must feed my kids, get their clothes ready, drop them off, and pick them up from school daily. I can adjust to working under pressure and make sure project deadlines are met.
Problem Solving Skills:
As my kids grow, I have become proficient in solving problems, as they happen, creating sleep routines, mediating arguments between them and their friends, etc. I can apply problem-solving skills to mediate disagreements within my team, fix complications that arise in daily operations, etc.
Communication Skills:
From telling my children what I need them to do to having talks with my son’s teacher. As a result, I learn to speak clearly, communicate in understandable language, and be sympathetic to other feelings.
Negotiation Skills:
I can always rely on my excellent negotiation skills. I can use the skills I have learned as a parent to convince my children who are known to be naughty, stubborn, and often unreasonable, and to work with our routines and be flexible.
