FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF OPC LASERS LLC

2007 TO 2016

Formed company to commercialize two market disrupting technologies: 1.) A manufacturing process that provides for dislocation defect free heterogeneous III-V CMOS logic (e.g., Indium-Gallium- Arsenide, Germanium, Si-Ge, Indium-Antimonide CMOS circuitry on Silicon substrate wafers). Specifically, defect dislocation free III-V transistor circuitry on silicon substrate wafer material will be instrumental in making the next generation (more-than-Moore) very low-power, high- performance, Northbridge, Southbridge, APU, GPU, CPU, mobile computing and wireless logic a reality; and 2.) A high performance, telecom compatible (λ = 850 nm, 1,300 nm to 1,550 nm), high power (between 20 and 200 mW), a narrow linewidth single mode direct modulated (modulation speeds 10 up to 40 Gbits/ps across a 40 kilometer fiber span) VCSEL laser diode we call the Optical Phase Conjugation Laser Diode. The OPCLD was designed to be used as the light source in the next generation of MAN, LAN, FTTx, EPON OLT ONU/ONT, Pt-2-Pt Home Run fiberoptic transmission network equipment.

Responsibilities: Executive management, hiring of consultants and outsource manufactures, capitalization of company, research, laser diode design and manufacturing process design, patent filing and office action processing, IT infrastructure and buildout, monitored outsourced accounting.

Reason for leaving - Took the company as far as I could - needs new management to continue.

PRESIDENT OF OPTICAL STORAGE DEVICES, INC.

1996 TO 2006

Optical Storage Devices, Inc. was formed to commercialize a new hard disk drive data storage technology I invented. The new disk drive replaces the electro-mechanical read/write data head and motor assemblies used in conventional disk drives to read/write data to and from concentric data tracks with a read/write data head assembly that provides for a multitude of non- moving read/write data heads that are positioned above and dedicated to 2

Has expertise in Ethernet and fiber

optic cable deployment, network

equipment installation and

maintenance.

Have received more than 14 U.S. and

international patent grants on several

new laser diode designs and CMOS

process technologies has an expertise

in U.S. and International patent law

and the patent filling process.

Has expertise in website server

installation.

Has expertise in the use of software,

list comprising: 15 years + experience

using AutoCAD and Windows

operating systems. Taught AutoCAD

at Longview College for two

semesters.

10 years + experience using 3D

Studio, Photoshop, Illustrator,

Dreamweaver, Flash Professional,

Fireworks, Acrobat, InDesign, After

Effects, Microsoft Office, Microsoft

Windows operation systems.

Experience using and administering

UNIX and LINUX based computer

systems and networks.

Has expertise in the design of InP,

GaAs, GaN, and InSb material based

semiconductor laser diode devices for

use in telecom and data storage.

Has expertise in the proto-type

production of various electronic

semiconductor devices.

Has expertise in high level board and

staff meetings having many direct

interactions with C level executives

from companies such as AMD, Intel,

Sematech, and Global Foundries.

concentric data tracks located on the hard drives disk material. This approach solves the so called data access problem by providing for the simultaneous electronic addressing of a multitude of stationary dedicated read/write data heads, which are collectively used to do simultaneous read/writes of data to and/or from a multitude of concentric disk drive data tracks. During this period I learned everything I could about data storage hardware, CMOS circuit design in hard disk drives, VCSEL laser diodes in data storage, patent law and how to create and file my own patent applications. Also learned corporate law; e.g., learned the rules and what is required to run a C corporation.

Responsibilities: Executive management, hiring of consultants and outsource manufactures, capitalization of company, research, hard disk and digital data storage, patent filing and office action processing, IT infrastructure and buildout, monitored outsourced accounting. Reason for leaving – due to the economic conditions of the country at that time could not raise sufficient capital to see the project through to completion.

PRESIDENT OF PLANET HELP DESK

1993 TO 1996

Planet Help Desk was formed to provide for a website turnkey service for new dot.com companies. The plan was to partner up with a computer hardware company (e.g., Desk Station, Inc.) that would provide for the computer server hardware, while Planet Help Desk would provide for the webpage creation, install and setup of the operating system and web server software, onsite installation, and any online and/or telephone support for said website web server customer. The computer company would sell computer servers for business use and we would make money providing for website creation and system support services. At that time Desk Station’s desktop computer system called the Raptor had, for a short period the distinction of being called the fastest computer server in world. Responsibilities: Executive management, hiring of consultants and outsource manufactures, capitalization of company, research, patent filing and office action processing, oversaw the installation of a DX3 internet connection, website creation, monitored outsourced accounting. The company folded from lack of capital – decided to move from services to hardware development.

INTERIOR DESIGNER/CADD ADMINISTRATOR

1984 TO 1993

Worked at US Telecom (later called US Sprint after its merger with GTE Sprint) in Administrative Services/Corporate Real Estate. My job title was Interior Designer/CADD Administrator. I managed and maintained the LAN, computer workstations, and CADD computer systems for the entire corporate real estate department of US Sprint and its parent company United 3

Telecom. When I first started at US Sprint it was called US Telecom and it had only 1,500 employees. At that time Sprint was installing the nations’ first cross country fiber optic network. I was hired to create drawings, using AutoCAD software, to document the telecom and fiber optic equipment build outs produced by the company’s engineering groups. Specifically, for five years, I documented the locations of the telecom equipment racks and bays (e.g., MUX, DE-MUX, DS1, Fiber Trunks, and other network equipment), and the configurations of the network and fiberoptic equipment installed into the POP, the Switch, and the NOC sites comprising Sprint’s long distance networks. During this period I learned everything I could about fiber optics, AutoCAD, MS-DOS, Intergraph CADD systems, POTS, and long distance telecom. By the year 1988 I had transferred over to Sprint’s Corporate Facilities and real estate group. At Corporate Facilities I was responsible for installing, upgrading, and maintaining most of the computer, the network equipment (originally a 10BASE5, coaxial cable, Ethernet network, which was later upgraded to a twisted pair, CAT 5, RJ-45 Ethernet network), the back-up servers, the CADD computer systems, the network printers and drawing plotters for all of corporate real estate across multiple building site locations. During this period I learned everything I could about ISDN, the Internet, Intranet, Ethernet, Windows, 3-Studio, and Computer build out and repair. Also learned to do some programming in Borland C, C++, and AutoLISP during this period as well.

Responsibilities: management of CAD system used by company’s interior design staff, computer and network support for all PC systems used by Sprint’s corporate real-estate division.

Reason for leaving - I wanted to go out and form my own World Wide Web company.
