DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Monitors patients hooked in any mechanical life support. Coordinates with the attending physician for any parameter adjustments and institute the prescribed changes.

2.Maintain accurate documentation on the pulmonary treatment, patient response notes, any adverse reaction of patients receiving respiratory modalities and notify clinical supervisor, attending physician and responsible nursing staff of any adverse reaction.

3.Maintain/assist in the evaluation of respiratory products and equipment and monitor adequate supply inventory of assigned units.

4.Formulate weaning plan with consultation of attending physician and suggest appropriate weaning methods and Extubation.

5.Apply Non-Invasive Positive Airway Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), and Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure (BIPAP) as per physician’s order.

6.Apply High frequency Oscillatory Ventilation and Inhaled Nitric Oxide support as per physician’s order.

7.Assist in giving Surfactant to neonates/premature patient intubation and Extubation

8.Administer Oxygen, Aerosol and Humidity therapy as per physician’s order.

9.Provide chest physiotherapy as per physician’s order.

10.Adhere to Infection Control standards, safety and environmental health practices.

11.Act as a member of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation team.

12.Participates in any company training.
