DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
Inspect and examine all health and safety related complaints, workplace accidents, outbreaks of diseases, the spill of hazardous toxins or poison.
Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
Performing root cause analysis for incident/accident investigations.
Investigate the construction site to ascertain equipment, production, and material processes do not pose a safety or health hazard to employees, work guests, and the general public.
Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
Create, evaluate, and implement health and safety programs and strategies.
Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan.
Work closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Reviews and approves all subcontractors’ safety plans.
Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
Reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations.
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
Liaising with law enforcement and other investigators who are present at the time of a serious accident.
Reviewing and reporting on the staff's compliance with health and safety rules and recommending commendations or dismissal based on performance.
Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.
Serves as the link between state and local agencies and contractors.
Receives reports from and responds to orders issued by Department of Labor.
