Made reservations for guests that called in or came into the hotel. I checked guests in and out. I also made keys for guest checking in or if they had issues with keys. I worked closely with the housekeeping, maintenance/general manager/supervisor and stood in for director of sales until they hired a new one and in that time I set up reservations and wrote contracts for large groups. I also stocked up on supplies for the front desk and the gift shop.

My first position was in the self-pay department (I followed up on patient accounts after the insurance paid and patient had a balance due and if the patient had no insurance. I would have help patients to apply for financial assistance if they couldn’t afford to pay balance. I worked with the attorney that handled all liens, probate and accidents for self-pay patients. I also stood in as a lead for my department because the budget didn’t allow them to hire a new lead. I worked closely with my supervisor/manager/director and VP, I attended meetings with upper management). The company wasn’t sure what they wanted to do with the department and outsourced it to AHC/Convergent and so I was promoted to a follow up position in the commercial insurance department, (I followed up on accounts that was not paid correctly, non-payments, I appealed claims for payment if they weren’t paid according to the contract). I was then asked by my previous department to work with the outsource company as a lead because they didn’t want anyone else to work the accounts. I had 10 people under me that I trained and worked closely with. I also worked closely with the owner of the company for solutions). When the contract wasn’t renewed with the outsource company, I was placed in the Medicaid department (I worked accounts from the beginning to the end, billed claims electronically and sent paper claims to the insurance company. I followed up on claims for payments, sent appeals when needed and medical records. I worked reports weekly and had a deadline). I was then asked to help to create a department for physician claims accounts that was 90 days old and higher (I worked all old accounts, trained newcomers and I also created training manuals for new employee’s) I was also part of the credentialing team (helped physicians to update all credentials so that claims can be paid in a timely manner).

EDUCATION

I attended Beaumont High with a 3.0 GPA and graduated in May 1987 receiving a diploma and I then attended Mansfield Business College September 1987 and took up Business Management and didn't finish due to the school closing in November 1988.

SKILLS

I have years of experience in customer service and medical billing. I am trained on multiple healthcare software (Epic, HBOC, SSI, Commercial/Government medical billing/follow-up websites, IDX, Microsoft Office, FACS, Stock amp, Availity, Salesforce and Huron) I am also very knowledgeable when it comes to HIPPA. I am familiar with ICD Codes, HCPCs Codes and in/Outpatient billing, Hospital/ Physician billing. Experienced with 1500/UB Claims.
