Responsibilities at Hot Rolling (Finishing Line)

Finalizing the size of the hot strip before it can be coiled by maintaining, installing and monitoring the following:

>Run out roller table, Works rollers, back up rollers, side guides, looper bed

(strip tensioner), stripper plates, hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic cylinders, crop shear, spindles, reduction gearbox, main drive motors, main drive cooling fans, oil lubricating systems (motors, vane and gear pumps) grease lubricating systems (drum pump and multiline) and deep well pumps. Achievement: To be able to do fault findings on breakdowns and knowing mechanical components

Key Lessons obtained : The importance of plant full maintenance during shutdown times, to ensure that production runs with no breakdowns, to ensure that all plant machines and equipment’s are fully serviced according to the maintenance schedule.
