Designed, created syllabus for, and taught

English 318: American Literature II: 1860 to the present. Students produced several short papers, typically responses and interpretation. The course had never been taught until I created the syllabus and taught it.

English 210: Creative Writing. Students produce creative work in fiction, poetry, drama and/or creative non-fiction. Course is taught as a workshop. This course had never been taught until I created the syllabus for and taught it. I have since taught it regularly, typically one semester a year. English 410: Comparative Literature: European and American Novelists of the 20th Century. Students produced several papers and a major paper and presentation as a capstone. I was the first person to teach this course at AUD and the syllabus I designed is still in use. Instructor, department of rhetoric and composition, American University in Cairo Taught three courses per semester in the writing studies program. Helped develop curriculum to be contributed to a pool of resources for all teachers to use.
