ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES AS QC

Assigned to carry out all the rules & responsibilities as a QA/QC Inspector in liaison with QA/QC manager for all related E & I work.

Reviewing of Project Quality Plan as per project specification, codes and standards

Ensure conduction of internal quality audits in accordance with the applicable procedure, maintain records of it and report the findings to the concern department.

Compile and maintain internal construction audit plan.

Ensure effective implementation of Project Quality Plan

Participate in regular meetings like minutes of meeting with Client and Management, and Daily Meeting with QC Personals to keep abreast with all issues relating to the company's Project. Discusses and reviews opportunities for the optimization of assigned work programmes

Participates in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) meeting to adhere the policies and procedures.

Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner by not taking on any task(s) that are perceived as unsafe and if in doubt, consults assigned authorities before proceeding.

Reports all accidents, incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE

Provide management support to the Project Team on all quality related issues

Develop and maintain Inspection Test procedures & techniques, throughout the construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning stages

Identify quality problems, reject non-conforming items and initiate, recommend or provide solutions to the problems with customer sanction / approvals through designated channels. Control further processing of non-conforming items, deficiencies or unsatisfactory conditions until rectification and any remedial action is approved.

Conduct random surveillance on site, operator's qualifications, tools and equipment, working practices as well as storage and preservations. Prepare daily inspection documents and final acceptance documents prior to project completion. Maintain close working relationship with the construction personnel. Responsible for delivering the project assigned work on time.

Advise on progress of Electrical construction activities during construction.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES AS SITE ENGINEER

Familiarized with construction Execution process which includes but not limited to designing, procurement, construction/erection, and pre-commissioning and commissioning for Electrical Works at various projects.

Monitoring & review of contractor/sub-contractor (s)/sub-supplier(s) work scope and standards, and field detailed design drawing and documents.

Overall responsible for construction activities by ensuring projects standards, procedures and schedules are adhered to.

Performs Engineering functions at the level established by management for the position. performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by Engineering coordinator

Reviews the Engineering deliverables by various disciplines, which pertain to electrical engineering.

Remains knowledgeable of requirements for applicable codes and standards on a project

Knowledge of IEC, NEMA, NEC, NFPA, etc.

Receives and distributes project design documents and checking out IFC (Issued for construction) drawing before continuation on field works.

Following look ahead schedule of construction activities to determine the time that needs full concentration on the priority areas/system.

Raise “site technical query” if any discrepancy between drawings and actual installation at site.

Review & as-built construction drawings, submit to Engineering Department for final as built. Also review all the vendors/Third party scope of work.

Ensuring the site issupplied with the correct drawings and materials, in sufficient time meet the project schedule.

Coordinate with the other department and resolve issue.

Knowledge in electrical power receiving, emergency diesel generator system, equipment & power layout in main sub-station, MCC, electrical equipment & panel layout, earthing & lighting layout, cable tray layout, control logic diagram and electrical technical documents.

Liaises with construction safety, quality assurance, operations and ensure that facilities will be safe, operable and maintainable.

Ensure that all the tests, controls, inspections and other activities are carried out by sub-contractor according to the schedule, specification and approved Quality plan in compliance with the required HSE standards.

Activities comply with QA/QC procedures during Engineering and construction phases.

Ensure effective implementation of Quality management system.

Supports the rest of team and propose alternative courses of action, wherever possible, to facilitate efficient project progress.

Ensure adherence to company’s environmental, process and occupational health and safety standards, participates in HSE meetings, toolbox talks and company QHSE promotional programs.

Reports all accidents, incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE team.

ACTIVITIES AT INSTRUMENTATION & CATHODIC PROTECTION:

Installation of Instrument devices like pressure gauge, Flow switches, control valve, level transmitter, Flow Transmitter, Temperature transmitter, pressure transmitter, level indicator, temperature indicator, low level switch, high level switch etc.

Installation of PLC, SCADA, DAS system, Server panel etc.

Instrument cabling from plc panels to Motors, MV switchgear, UPS, Transformer, VFD, Surge vessel and all instruments for Analog and digital signal.

Fiber cable laying.

Installation of OMNI marker in pipeline.

OTDR testing for fiber cable.

RGS conduiting in shaft, Tanks, pump station & Reservoir station.

Installation of Ribbon anode and titanium conductor (tank bottom).

Installation of magnesium Anode, electrode, pin brazing, header cable, Guat boxes, Anode cables, RE cables.

Installation of PTS, CTS, IFTS & RCTS (Temporary & Permanent Cathodic protection).

ACTIVITIES AT LOW CURRENT SYSTEM:

Installation of fire alarm devices like smoke detectors, Manual pull stations, High sensitivity sensing detectors (HSSD), Duct detectors, Heat detectors, etc. as per approved drawing

Installation of HVAC system components like Temperature Sensors, pressure sensors, Duct Heater, Thermostat, Dampers (FSD) etc., as per approved drawing.

Installation of conducting system for fire alarm system and HVAC system.

Installation of looping cables for notification devices and sensing devices separately.

Testing of Fire Alarm System:

Short fall test on all devices.

Ground fall test.

Interlocking test with other system such as SACS, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, Tamper switch, low pressure system,

DB testing.

Installation BAC.net devices and provided MAC address to IT department for further signal testing.

Installation of NOVEC system includes control panel installation, detector installation, wiring system, abort system etc.

Installation of conduit system for NOVEC control panels and its associated devices

Installation of grounding and bonding to all devices and control panels as per NEC 250

Perform integrity test on NOVEC system.

Installation of DDC panel and its conduiting system.

Coordinate with vendors for interlocking test between all systems.

ACTIVITIS AT MV/LV SUBSTATIONS:

Installation of power socket outlets and its conduiting and wiring.

Installation of street lighting and building lighting system and its conduiting and wiring.

Installation of MV loop cables between package substation and distribution transformer.

Installation of underground cable (MV&LV) as per Aramco Standard SAES-P-104.

Installation of package substations, switch racks and its grounding grid.

Installation of: Cable Trays, MV&LV power cables, control, instrumentation cables, power transformers 13.8kv/0.48kv, MV switchgear, pumps and motor controlling center (MCC), Distribution & control panels, Annunciator panel, UPS& Batteries system.

Testing and commissioning of Electrical System @ Substation includes:

Testing of power cables: LV/MV power cable insulation resistance &continuity testing, for MV and above cables Hi-pot test to be carried out.

Testing of Transformers: Insulation Resistance Test, Winding Resistance Test, Voltage withstand (HI-POT), (Coordination to vendor activities voltage ratio, measurement of no load loss &Impedance voltage, oil testing, Winding Temperature)

Testing of Bus bar: contact resistance test (doctor) test, Insulation Resistance test, Torqueing test.

Testing of switchgear and Mcc’s: Breaker or contactor Testing includes contact Resistance test, insulation Resistance test, Hi-pot test, primary current Injection Test, Timing test relay testing, point to point check.

Testing of Grounding system: continuity Testing, 3 or 4 pole testing, earth grid connection test, torque test to grounding system.

Testing of Batteries &UPS System: coordination to vendor for charging & discharging test.

HANDLING OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTAND TEST EQUIPMENTS: 500V/1kv/5kv Insulation Tester by megger, Continuity Tester by fluke, Hi-pot Tester by high voltage, clamp meter, phase rotation Tester by Biddle, Torque tester, Tachometer.
