• I helped individuals understand English, Math, Science, Social Studies, language arts, college level language arts, humanities, religions of the world, human growth and development, abnormal psychology, basic math, social psychology, child and adolescent psychology.
• Aided in using the material and showing how to highlight, take notes, and make flash cards depending on age appropriateness.
• For the younger children I have used puppets, drawings, positive reinforcement, repetition when needed, and games and rewards when they do something correctly. I find that immediate positive reinforcement will help aid in retention of many things. I use redirection as needed, always in a fun energetic manner.
• Assisted in essay writing, editing, and how to do research for papers.
• I have helped from preschool to BA degree students, adjusting how I approach things dependent on the individuals learning styles and techniques. What works for one person may not work for another and I have learned to quickly adjust to the students needs and personality for learning.

Other
I have overcome domestic abuse, molestation, kidnapping and rape, and witnessing a suicide. While my early 20s I was not in a good place mentally due to these things I kept pushing through until I was able to accomplish my goals. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2002, as well as agoraphobia and panic disorder. In my studies I have found ways to overcome these things. These traumas have given me first hand experience in how to work through them, as well as how to deal with things as they come at one in life. While around this timeframe (199-2003) I made mistakes, I learned from them as well as addressed the fundamental issues within my own life. After completing therapy, and striving to better myself, the person I was- the victim- has became a survivor.
My children are my world as what we leave behind is for them. I stopped schooling so that I could address their mental health needs. I have a total of nine (9) children, ranging in ages from 27-years-old to 5-years-old. Only three of these children are my natural children. Two were adopted as they were abandoned with me, three are under a current guardianship with me, and one I had a Power of attorney over for her middle/high school years. These kids being through traumatic events have been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and Borderline personality disorder. Due to this I have firsthand experience with many diverse behavioral issues that can arise and know how to manage these distractions with redirection.
I also was involved each step of the way volunteering at schools when I could help and assisting all my children with work, including homeschooling this last year completely.
