Development and maintenance of environmental, health and safety policies, programs and conducting program assessment to identify department program deficiencies.
Responsible for and administration of the annual fire extinguisher maintenance program, annual sprinkler system inspection and test program as per the Law.
Coordination with environmental, health and safety committees to promote safety expertise and in the development and presentation of safety training materials at both corporate and shop floor levels.
Preparation of Monthly analysis of accidents metric reports and accident analysis graphs
Conducting of periodic inspection and HSE audits of the company and properties’ relative to the environmental, health and safety standards as well as assisting line managers and supervisors on compliance issues in relation to Kenyan EHS law; Occupational Health Safety Act, 2007.
Coordination and conducting of workplace assessment, surveys, and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions such as noise exposure, chemical exposure, indoor air quality, light levels, confined spaces, hazardous energies among others and recommending controls and/or usage and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE’s).
Implementation and management of the company’s environmental management system in accordance with the provisions of the government, which includes administration of waste management, statutory licensing and coordinating of hazardous and universal waste management activities.
