I was responsible for the implementation, maintenance and auditing of ISO 9001:2008. I was also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety tasks with responsibility of supervising safety officers who based on various sites within the country. My supervision to them included to guide and mentor them on their day to day activities. Based on the project scope from project manager together with Construction manager, I was fully responsible for implementation of a health and safety specifications for each project and approval of the safety plans based on the specifications. I have also

implemented the company's SOP's and restructured the entire company safety management system. I have implemented and trained the site's safety officers on the DIFR of which they were submitting to me on monthly basis. I was also advising management on various issues affecting health and safety any related updates and amendments on the applicable legislations. I sat with the management on budgets for safety requirements including motivating for safety officers to be provided with certain equipment, so they will be efficiently performed their duties. I also helped some safety officer's (with minimum experience) to conduct incidents investigations and reporting however I had overall in charge of collating all safety related statistics and report to DOL all section 24 incidents. I also revised the company safety policy as I had identified some loopholes in it. I also revised the risk assessments by changing the entire method and introduced the new method and template of the risk assessments. I was to personally go to each site to conduct d inductions for subcontractors before they commenced any work on sites. Upon joining I have also survived the company when one of the sites was about to close due to safety inaccuracies. I also attend the client’s agents audit in a view to help safety officers to close all findings identified. I also ensure that all plant and equipment operators have valid operator’s certificates.

Duties and Responsibilities I was responsible for KNZ, Gauteng, George and Bloemfontein SHEQ implementation, maintenance and ISO Standards auditing (Group five intertol Projects). I also audited ISO standards at Group five Zimbabwe toll road and construction (Infralink) operations, stretching from Figtree Bulawayo to Mutare passed Harare. Amongst my areas of responsibilities were to conduct but not limited to the following: Risk Assessments, Environmental impact and aspects assessment, incidents/accidents investigation, health, safety environment related trainings to include the inductions, assisting my SHEQ Manager to review the system, implementing the SWP and amending the current if need arose, sourcing and providing safety toolbox talks and posters, responsible for reporting to the DOL all reportable incidents. I was ensuring the all medicals were done timely and all equipment needed to be calibrated were done so on due times. I also ensured that all plant and equipment operators have valid operator’s certificates.

I was also working with technical department and had to ensure that applicable competences and appointments were in place and ensured COC were in place where necessary. In respect to the OHS Act with its regulations I had ensure that all appointments and legislated trainings were readily available and updated. In mentioning the few appointments here goes, 16 (2) and (1) sect 17 - GAR 9(2) GSR (3) (8)

GMR (2) and also ensuring the DMR regulations and CRegs were followed up to standards. I prepared the health and Safety Specification for the subcontractor, approve their plans and conducting their monthly audits for the subcontractors. I was also conducting the Group five Intertoll SHEQ internal audits on quarterly basis. I have audited facilities in following places, Johannesburg, Vaal, Bloemfontein, George and Zimbabwe.
