Professional Experience

NORTH PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT, North Logan & Hyde Park, UT

Police Officer, June 2018 - Present

Proactively patrol the cities of North Logan and Hyde Park to ensure public safety traffic enforcement and active patrol techniques in an effort to mitigate criminal opportunities. Assert community policing efforts while working in the communities with the citizens. Respond to calls for service and work with community members in an effort to help maintain the high quality of life they have come to expect. Assist with community events and functions such as parades, national night out, etc.

Currently serving as a detective investigating crimes against person and property crimes. Also serving as a school resource officer teaching D.A.R.E. to fifth grade students. As a detective I have received specialized training and experience in interview and interrogation, arrest/search warrant writing, child abuse, missing and exploited children investigations, etc.

UTAH STATE ADULT PROBATION & PAROLE, Ogden & Logan, UT

Agent, August 2015 – June 2018

Conduct field visits and comprehensive investigations to ensure full compliance with all probation and parole processes, regulations, and conditions established by judge and Board of Pardons, reporting violations of probation agreements as necessary. Collaborate extensively with local law enforcement regarding offender behavior to ensure the highest level of public safety. Conduct LS/RNR assessments which are used to determine an offender’s likelihood of reoffending, build Case Action Plans and provide support to the offender in an effort to help them successfully complete the Case Action Plan. Cultivate trust from offenders to support reintegration into society and facilitate decision-making process that lead to self-awareness and productivity with the goal of minimizing recidivism.

Notable Achievements:

Medal of Merit recipient- This medal was received as a result of a recommendation from my supervisor. I played a significant role in an investigation that was completed and resulted in three children being removed from a dangerous environment and the perpetrator was arrested and adjudicated. The perpetrator was sentenced to 6 years to life in the Utah State Prison.

Served as Fugitive Team Leader (Logan AP&P) to facilitate apprehension of fugitives- Successfully investigated and apprehended 75 fugitives in the Cache County area. These investigations resulted in arrest’s in Box Elder, Weber, Cache, and Rich Counties. I held this position for a year and a half and resigned this position when I took my current position with the North Park Police Agency. My primary role as the Fugitive Team Leader was to act as incident command to establish and execute tactical plans to apprehend the fugitive.

Served as the liaison to the Cache/Rich Drug Task Force- Worked with and assisted with several Cache/Rich Drug Task Force search warrants throughout the Cache Valley area. Assisted with investigation’s involving probationers and parolees. Assisted with the search warrant service and seizure of evidence that resulted from the investigation.

SMITHFIELD CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT, Smithfield, UT

Patrol Sergeant, August 2009 – August 2015

Served as second in command, responsible for supervising and training Patrol Officers, creating work schedules, clearing reports, conducted in-depth internal affairs investigations, and conducting regular reviews of policies and procedures, recommending changes as necessary. Responded to daily calls for service, and conducted investigations into DUI’s, domestic violence, theft, burglary, and other criminal cases.

Implemented numerous improvements to processes and procedures, including the incorporation of the Lethality Assessment (Domestic Violence Prevention Tool), and inclusion of defensive tactics and impact weapons training.

Detective investigating crimes against persons (child abuse, sex crimes, assaults), and property crimes from 2011 to 2013.

Collaborated with team members to ensure safety and security of staff and inmates inside the facility at all times. Prior to appointment to Deputy, entered organization as a civilian working in the control room, and worked with transport for two years.

Dairy/Frozen Manager, March 2003 – March 2005

I served as the Frozen Food’s Manager at Lee’s Marketplace for one year before moving to the Dairy Department as a manager over the department. I worked with a team of employees to ensure the department was fully stocked at all times and that orders were filled in a timely manner. I ordered product for the department and made sure that these orders were in on time and that the orders were sufficient for the needs of the store. As a team we worked to meet daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for sales, gross, and labor. The main focus as a department and storewide was on customer service and our ability to communicate and assist our customers.
