Construction Manager – 9/20 – Present

Contracted to Stantec to provide construction management for the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board’s EPA consent decree projects. Managed construction projects on the Sewer System Evaluation and Rehabilitation Program (SSERP). Some duties included: verifying that schedules, standards and protocols are followed; performing constructability design reviews and specification and plan development; communicate and work with the client, other stakeholder agencies, permitting agencies and the contractor; answer RFIs, review material submittals, write field orders, and negotiate change orders; prepare independent cost reasonableness estimates; schedule inspections based on project requirements from the contractor’s schedules; and conduct construction progress meetings.

Project Engineer – 8/19 – 3/20

Contracted to PBF Energy, Tank Team, working as part of the API 653 Tank Program team. Some duties included: developing the scope for tanks and associated piping, developing RFQ packages for the construction of new tanks with ringwall foundations, and for the upgrade/repair of existing tanks, working with refinery personnel prior to and during construction to assure that each project met the needs of the refinery, developing data sheets to order owner furnished materials, reviewing contractors’ construction drawings, following and supporting projects through the completion of construction. Project Manager/Engineer – 6/18 – 8/19

Contracted to Valero St. Charles Refinery Small Capital Projects Group, managed all of the tank project work at the refinery, along with several other small capital projects. Some duties included developing phase 3 and 4 AFEs, assisting in the scope development for each tank project and other projects, developing bid packages, participating in the award of projects, issuing P.O.s for labor and materials, tracking and reporting cost of each project using SAP, working with refinery personnel prior to and during construction to assure that each project meets the needs of the refinery, developing data sheets to order owner furnished materials, reviewing contractors’ construction drawings, following and supporting projects through the completion of construction, participating in the final inspection/PSSR, and developing tank level alarm drawings.

Project Engineer – 3/11 – 6/18

Contracted to Valero St. Charles Refinery Reliability Engineering Group, working as part of the API 653 Tank Program team. Some duties include assisting in the scope development for each tank and associated piping, developing bid packages for the construction of 11 new tanks with foundations and for the upgrade/repair of 22 existing tanks, working with refinery personnel prior to and during construction to assure that each project meets the needs of the refinery, developing data sheets to order owner furnished materials, reviewing contractors’ construction drawings, following and supporting projects through the completion of construction, participating in the final inspection, developing tank level alarm drawings, and developing pump packages for quotes.

Project Engineer 11/10 – 3/11

Contracted to Noranda Alumina as a project engineer. Managed capital projects for the plant. Some duties include working with contracted design engineers and plant operations to define project scope, participate in HAZOP reviews, review & comment on project design, adjust project scope to meet budget constraints, order owner furnished materials using SAP, assembled bid packages for contractor quotes, review bids & award projects, manage projects through the completion of construction. Some projects included Powerhouse Air Compressors, Sulfidic Caustic Control Facility, and West Slurry Mix Conveyor Replacement.

Project Coordinator 4/09 – 11/10

Contracted out to Murphy Oil USA in Meraux, LA to manage the construction of a new 15,000 SF Quality Control Lab building for the refinery. Started 2nd phase of the lab construction project (Phase 1 work listed below), which consisted of foundation work, erection of an explosion resistant CMU block building with a pitched metal roof & a flat built-up roof on a concrete deck, extensive electrical & mechanical systems, interior finishes, etc.

Project Designer 3/09-4/09

Contracted to Chalmette refining (ExxonMobil) to build an engineered package that isolated seven chemical units scheduled to be mothballed from the oil refinery during the 2010 turnaround.

Project Coordinator 2/09-3/09

Contracted to Murphy Oil USA in Meraux, LA to manage the construction of a new 15,000 SF lab building for the refinery. The piling & rough grading work was completed prior to the completion of the building design package. The construction resumed a month later (see above Phase 2 work).

Project Manager 12/08-2/09

Performed exterior inspections of above ground storage tanks, prioritized the order of repair for the 75 tanks inspected and started the coordination effort to have the tanks repaired for Stone Oil in Gretna, LA.

Project Engineer 9/08-12/08

Contracted to Gramercy Alumina as a project engineer. Managed capital projects for the plant. Some duties include working with contracted design engineers and plant operations to define project scope, participate in HAZOP reviews, review & comment on project design, adjust project scope to meet budget constraints, order owner furnished materials using SAP, assembled bid packages for contractor quotes, review bids & award projects, manage projects through the completion of construction. Some projects included Powerhouse Air Compressors, Sulfidic Caustic Control Facility, and West Slurry Mix Conveyor Replacement. Due to an economic downturn capital projects were stopped/deferred and the plant cut contracted personnel.

Archdiocese of New Orleans Long-term Healthcare 7/04 - 9/08

Construction Manager

Represented the owner in all construction matters at two nursing home/assisted living facilities, Chateau de Notre Dame and Wynhoven Health Care. Responsibilities at both facilities include coordinating construction work with the nursing staff to assure safety for residents, staff and visitors. Managed architects and contractors for multiple renovation and hurricane recovery projects and a building addition project at Wynhoven Health Care. Project types include total interior renovation of buildings, waterproofing and painting exterior of buildings, replacing elevators, redesigning and building back the flooded first floor of buildings, building bid packages for smaller projects and seeing the projects through to completion.
