RESEARCH ASSISTANT, FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY I was hired as a research assistant for Dr. McCartney’s lab. Thus far in my time here, I have assisted with research being conducted on a new project dealing with students and primary scientific literature. I help to sort through the qualitative data gathered form the survey via thematic coding on the NVivo program. After data analysis, I also assist with charts to exemplify data for the eventual paper to be written on the project. AUGUST 2020 – DECEMBER 2020

During my sophomore year of high school, I was able to attend Broward College as part of their dual enrollment program. For three years, I attended both my high school and Broward College where I was able to receive my associate degree in arts.

Global Learning Medallion Scholar (2019 to present) The global medallion program is a part of FIU’s global learning initiative. It involves global oriented coursework, activities, research and a final reflection. PLTL Leader Internship (Spring 2020 to Present)

As part of the intern position at the PLTL FIU Program, I taught two sections of around ten to fifteen students in the subject of, Biology 2 on a weekly basis. In my third and upcoming semester I will be teaching two sections.

PLTL Supervisor (Summer 2020 to Present)

As part of the PLTL program offered at FIU, I have supervised other Peer Leaders and filled out performance surveys to ensure that all students in the program are getting the best section possible.

ASDA National Member (2018 – Present)

The American Student Dental Association offers a number of dental related opportunities and events to help enrich students in the pursuit of dentistry. FIU PreDental Member (2018 – Present)

As a member of FIU’s PreDental Society I have been able to participate in numerous events and experiences. I helped to fundraise for the chapter’s philanthropic ventures and attended meetings on a monthly basis.

FIU PreDental Impression Workshop (2019)

FIU’s PreDental Society hosted an Impression Workshop with the assistance of a Dentist, where I was able to take impressions for the first time.

• Stem Research with FIU Melissa McCartney Lab (2019 - Present) As part of the Melissa McCartney Lab, I have assisted on the Graduate Science Communication project by working on analytical tests of qualitative data. Recently, I have started assisting on a new project in which read scientific articles and interview their authors. I still assist by working on analytical tests of qualitative data.

As part of FIU’s Undergraduate Research Conference, the Graduate Science Communication project created and showcased a poster at the event.

Soldiers’ Angels Volunteer

Soldiers’ Angels is an organization that organizes volunteers to assist veterans with a number of goods and services. I signed up to help with the card team which specifically works on providing cards for veterans and their families for a number of occasions. I have worked on birthday cards, postcards and get well soon cards. Specifically, I write and decorate them and try to use a touch of manual dexterity when drawing. Magic Yarn Project Membership (2019 - Present)

The Magic Yarn Project is a volunteer-based organization that creates wigs for children who are cancer patients. The wigs are hand made with yarn, knitting needles and other supplies. As a member of the organization, there is access to more wig tutorials. I have helped put together wigs, decorative pieces, and decorative envelopes. Project Downtown Volunteer (2018 – Present)

Project Downtown is an organization based in the area of downtown Miami. It helps to provide the homeless with food, clothing, and other donations. I have assisted in the passing out of food and clothes on a bimonthly basis.

Relay for Life Volunteer (2018 - 2019)

Relay for Life is an organization that raises money for cancer research. FIU hosts a large event in the evening where all of the school’s clubs and organizations create booths to help raise money for the cause. I assisted at two booths on the evening of the event as well as in various fundraisers in preparation for the event by making baked goods to sell. Assistant Sunday School Teacher (2016 – Present)

At the Eliem Pentecostal Church of God, I have assisted the Sunday School Class for ages three to five on a weekly basis by cutting out crafting pieces, serving snacks, and assisting as needed.
