12. Strengths
Becoming an administrator is the most satisfying and influential way to positively touch the lives of maximum people in an academic institution.
My biggest strength as an administrator is in developing an ideal venue for making a positive and meaningful contribution in an organization.
I have a broad knowledge of organizing, managing and supporting the day to day activities required for running an educational institution.
I’m highly flexible, with strong team-working skills and able to work individually or as part of a group.
Through my past experiences I’ve been involved in a wide variety of tasks in areas such as admissions, resource planning and recruitment.
I possess excellent organizational skills gained through all-round administrative experience.
13. Vision
Academic Institutions are central to the success of all countries, and the best among them must not only be world-class for their teaching but also they should take the lead in knowledge generation. The foremost step in paving a future roadmap for the spearheads of technical education in India starts with identifying the prospective areas requiring immediate attention for creating vibrant academic and research environment.
The need of the hour is to empower and strengthen the existing system. Following will be the focus areas-
Priority Goal #1: Establish Learning Benchmarks
1. Design a plan for infusing practical based education across the curriculum:
Assess the learning gap across all programs, degrees and certificates.
Investigate additional opportunities for various courses.
Enhance quality of education through the infusion of values. 2. Develop interdisciplinary best practices:
Establish interdisciplinary faculty communities to: engage students with real world challenges; and support a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and preferences through flexible and equitable instruction and delivery methods for teaching and learning. 3. Establish a data-informed approach to student success: Develop a predictive analytics framework for student success that will include: degree planning; advisory services; teaching and learning effectiveness; and early intervention.
Priority Goal #2: Professional Development
Work is needed to nurture an integrated, connected and empowered community of faculty and staff. 1. Create an academic stewardship forum that provides an integrated framework for educational initiatives supported by faculty, staff and administration 2. Evolution of empowered faculty through:
Guide the evolving role of faculty as mentors, content creators, and teachers; and monitor the impact on teaching and learning quality.
3. Professional development and support: Equitably provide a range of professional development resources and support for full- and part-time faculty that will improve student success.
Create bachelor degrees that address the changing multi-disciplinary economic needs. Also it is essential to establish a sustainable business model and marketing strategy for these programs.
Identify mechanisms and forums that facilitate cross-departmental dialogue.
Keeping in mind the rapid pace at which technology goes outdated it is important to build an evolving technology infrastructure that enhances faculty capability to deliver content and students’ ability to learn.
Priority Goal #3: Success Skills
Equipping the students with relevant success skills, including leadership, communication, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, personal responsibility, and management skills.
Implement new learning methods: Develop learning methods that promote interdisciplinary, problem-based learning across all programs.
Create success skills assessment: Identify a flexible assessment process that accurately validates the success skills of each student.
Priority Goal #4: Citizenship
Infuse and promote local and global citizenship awareness and sensitization in course offerings and requirements.
Link courses and programs to our diverse community: Assess the current curriculum to address weaknesses and develop priority initiatives that create greater inclusivity for all our learners. The students are the best brand ambassadors an educational organization can have. Involve students and the community to promote the “brand” and better utilize media strategies. 14. Details of Refrees
