• Project: Investigating the Underlying Genetic Drives of Structural Congenital Heart diseases

o Advisors: Dr. Belal Azab (Geneticist) and Dr. Iyad Ammouri (Pediatric cardiologist)

Role in the Study:

o Team working with the pediatric cardiologist in the clinical assessment of participating families. The clinical assessment included ECG, and echocardiography.

o Constructing the pedigrees and analysis of their modes of inheritance. o Building in house database for around 1,000 patients including their clinical and genetic data.

o Selecting candidate patients according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the next phase, which is Next Generation Sequencing. o Comparing genotype-phenotype correlations in previously reported variants between patients in our cohorts and those in others. • Project: Studying the Genetics of Inherited Retinal Dystrophies o The project aimed to identify the genetic etiologies of different forms of inherited retinal dystrophies in the Jordanian population to guide future research on possible gene therapy.
