OBJECTIVE:

A highly organised, dedicated and energetic individual who is punctual, prompt and quick learner. Through previous work experience in credit and control operations, gained knowledge about Trade Finance (i.e., Letter of Credit) and developed communication, time- management and accounting skills. Capable of working well both on own initiative and as part of a team.

CAREER HISTORY:

1) Letter of Credit Officer, Credit and Collection Department Emirates Steel Industries PJSC (April 2016 – August 2018)

- Checked and negotiated Letters of Credit orders to an acceptable level to the banking practices of UCP 600.

- Maintained good bank relationships to ensure Emirates Steel Industries had a sufficient level of escalation and contacts to receive and negotiation documents under letter of credit.

- Authorized the release of orders on receipts of workable Letter of Credits.

- Informed sales and supply chain department of receiving the LC and its expiry for timely shipments before the last date of shipment.

- Based on the management’s decision after evaluating the risks on a country-by-country basis, liaised with the bank to ensure letters are requested with instruction to confirm where there is a high sovereign risk.

- Prepared and worked with Sales in the required areas to assist with credit note issuance.

- Handled and resolved customer queries and credit notes/refund at the earliest.

- Covered for team colleagues in their absence by handling cash-in-advance transactions and Letter of Credits.

- Followed up with banks/customers for payment.

- Followed up with the bank for refund in case of any excess charges when the payment is received and for tracking/reference number for the documents negotiated.

- Sent Balance confirmation and statement of accounts to customers for audit purposes and reconciled the same to identify any discrepancies.

(Six Weeks: Oct 2019 – Nov 2019)

- Assisted Research and Innovation (RIO) and Development and Alumni (D&A) departments to develop stakeholder mapping for Edinburgh Napier University through primary data collection.

- Identified the challenges and provided necessary recommendations for effective internal stakeholder engagement strategy by developing an internal stakeholder communication map using “Stakeholder Circle” methodology.
