1. Power cost reduction in electrical holding furnaces

Methodology Before Each 36kw holding furnace consumes 22 units per hour

So for that we used digital Thyrisor control unit (Make : ABI) to operate furnace

on/off control.

And changed control logic and applied.

So Decresed power consumed units from 22 to 18 units per hour and efficiency also

Learnings and Achievements

Learned Digital Thyrisor control unit control circuit and settings.

2. Air Consumption controlling.

Methodology Fixed, foot valves for component testing air gauges.

Fixed, Air flow control valves and changed 4mm dia hole instead of 6mm dia hole

for all air guns.

Deliverables Decreased compressors power cost up to 3 percentage.

3. RO plant, ETP plant and plant lights automation.

Methodology Fixed, floot switchs in RO plant and ETP plant.

To control, motors on / off control with respective sequence (Automation)

4. Automatic aluminum metal level low at machine holding furnace level indication alarm

provided at melting furnace for all Die casting machines, due to this communication gap

problem solved bet ween machine operator and furnace operator.

5. Die-casting Machine interlock given with holding furnace metal temperature, i.e., if metal

temperature in holding furnace below 660 degree or above 680-degree, machine need to stop

automatically and etc.
