In the role as Peer Review Coordinator:

Review of patient care concerns reported to the Patient Safety Department through the RL system

Thorough retrospective chart review and investigation focused on identifying opportunities for improvement and education

Collaboration with specialty section chiefs to determine the need for formal peer review of each reported concern

Managing formal peer review cases to ensure completeness of case file information including obtaining pertinent information from the physician involved in the concern and outreach to other involved parties to gain input

Capture and paraphrase technical discussions during the specialty specific peer review committee meetings to develop meeting minutes to be reviewed by the Multidisciplinary Peer Review Committee (MPRC), which is comprised of multiple physicians from several specialties and the hospital’s executive leadership
