Resume:

ANDREA F. HERRERA

*** ******* **. *** ***, TX ***40 · 682-***-****

adlzaj@r.postjobfree.com

My name is Andrea Herrera. I am a college graduate, inmate advocate and criminal justice reform activist. My years as an employee, student, and activist have taught me communication skills, how to work in teams, the ability to work under pressure, as well as the benefits of diligence. I consider myself an exceptional team leader as well someone who manages well independently and can adapt to a new work environment quickly. I am looking to practice my work ethic in hopes that I can contribute my knowledge and skills to this corporation.

EXPERIENCE

05/2009 – 8/2009

ASSEMBLY WORKER, Elwood Staffing (Motorolla Co.)

I started as an assembly line worker for Motorolla under employment for a staffing service located in Richland Hills, Tx. My duties included assembling phones accessories or packaging and creating labels during the first few hours of my shift. Towards the end of my shift I recorded inventory into the computer and collected and stored surplus. I worked the third shift (6p.m-5a.m) Monday-Thursday. As a result, I have learned how to remain focus on the task at hand for hours, communication, and how to listen and follow direct orders.

01/2010 –12 /2010

CARETAKER, patient-Terri Marshall (self-employment)

I worked as caretaker for an elderly disabled woman who was a previous patient of a relative of mine. The patient paid me for my services out of her own pocket. My duties included preparing meals, bathing, dressing, cleaning, assisting with medications and oxygen mask. This experience has taught me the patience to deal with difficult individuals, the ability to listen and follow careful instructions, and communication skills. I was an evening caretaker scheduled from 7p.m-11p.m Monday-Friday.

6/2011– 1/2012

HOUSEKEEPER, Ramada Inn hotel

I began and ended my position as a housekeeper. A typical day for me would be attending to the guests’ needs, cleaning during stays and changing linens, and preparing rooms for the next guests (cleaning up after checkouts and replacing soaps, towels, etc.) I also performed other duties that were requested of me by my supervisor such as cleaning windows around the property, swiping the sidewalks, and performing occasional general cleaning. General cleaning is an overall thorough cleaning of the rooms (walls, curtains, lamp shades etc.) I worked on my feet for hours and was usually very busy. This experience has taught me the ability to perform physical labor, work under pressure, and get tasks done in a timely manner.

1/2021-present

INMATE ADVOCATE, SELF-EMPLOYED

I am currently working closely and diligently with an inmate in the state of Florida. The inmate was convicted of a home invasion and charged with a life sentence without the possibility of parole. My duties include mostly of all writing. During my advocacy work I have written and formulated petitions, letters/emails to government officials, and to grassroot organizations on their behalf. Additionally, I am and have written op-eds/personal essays on criminal justice reform and the prison system for publishing. I am currently working on putting together a file for the inmate in regards of seeking a pardon from state and government officials.
