Career Profile - Precis:
A research scientist with over five (5) years of diverse and rich experience gained in various research and practicing capacities and in different organizations both in government and non- governmental organizations, and profit-oriented environment; notably Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN), Rural Focus Limited, Universities (Egerton, Chuka, Kisii) and Development Impact Consulting. Currently I am a private consultant to the Kenya School of Government (KSG) as a trainer on Environmental Impact Assessment and Management areas. I have thrust in the capacity to handle main activities and apply priorities in challenging preps through energizing others to achieve set aims and objectives. I have working knowledge in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), proposal development, project management, workshop facilitation /trainer, various research and data analysis including MS Office. Key skills gathered and demonstrated include:
Training: Successfully trained different organized groups for government departments, corporate functions, coordinated research and investigations to facilitate decisions related to environmental and social matters efficiently and effectively.
Fundraising and Resources Mobilization: Successfully assisted more than Ten (10) groups to secure funds (ranging from USD 20,000 to USD50,000) from United Nations Development through the Small Grants Programme through proposal development, lobbying, advocacy and partnerships.
Consultancy: Demonstrated keen focus on resources mobilization, planning, coordinating & organizing for consultancy meetings with key government officials in preparation of Terms of References for local and international organizations with minimum resources. I have undertaken various EIAs remarkably for Greencom Technologies, Newpoint Hospital, Egerton University Pension Scheme among others.
Liaison & Coordination: Liaise with county governments and other organizations on matters of environmental training, examination, inspection and audit on projects and assessment of the beneficiary satisfaction on various government and other implemented projects.
Reports: Prepare after training reports for the trained groups and image for corporate bodies; prepare progress reports for the institutions, Implement decisions of the institutions where mandated.
Other Roles: Lecturing at Egerton, Chuka and Kisii Universities (Part-time), conducting practical, students’ evaluation and reporting, giving advice on waste management and disposal and provision of civic education to members of the public. Career objective:
