Cost Analysis and Effect on Compressive Strength with partial replacement of cement with fly ash, fine aggregates with surkhi and coarse aggregates with fibre

Lyallpur Khalsa College

Objective: To reduce the cost of concrete without compromising the strength.

Material Used: Compression testing machine, Fine aggregate, Coarse aggregate, Fly ash, Cement

Duties: In a group of five, I collected materials and performed a compression strength test.

Outcome: With increasing percentages of fly ash, surkhi, fibre in concrete, the overall cost of concrete decreased but compressive strength also decreased.

That concrete can be used in partition walls, filling of hollow columns where members are not subjected to high load.

Result: Achieved A+ grade for the final project.
