PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Oleeve Nigeria Limited - Lagos/Lagos state (Dec 2008 – Present)
Senior Technician/Fitter Machinist/Branch Head
Oleeve Nigeria is a renowned large format printing machinery and accessories wholesaler/retailer.
I pioneer efforts and coordinate across most functions in the branch office. Before being promoted to the role of Branch Head in November 2019, I operated as a Fitter Machinist.
Besides ensuring that the office space is presentable at all times, I manage all resources/personnel in the office and assist clients/customers with technical services for purchasing large format printers.
On several occasions, I travel to various locations to assist clients with their requirements. I troubleshoot client concerns about the printers and offer viable solutions, replacing or repairing the item/spare part, as required.
I utilize my engineering skills at the workshop to repair defective parts of items, using appropriate tools (Lathe, milling, welding, pillar drilling) under safe conditions.
I am proficient at manufacturing new parts like gears, electric motor-shafts, worn-out threads, bearings, tapping, etc.
I manage installations of SureTec CNC large format printers, 6feet/10feet.
Additionally, I assemble the various units of printers and leverage my stellar communication skills to offer end-user training to the client to best use the machine.
The company has recognized me as a prolific trainer, and the leadership also appreciates my detailed maintenance reports to the General Manager, Operations.
I have effectively saved the company thousands in Naira by developing an in-house capability and preventing outsourcing to vendors or contractors.
My exceptional interpersonal skills and technical expertise have inspired several clients to become long-term patrons, thereby helping accelerate business revenue.
I have successfully trained and mentored numerous staff members to understand CNC large format printers' operations better. I have taught them to install as well as impart training to clients, saving millions in Training & Development functions, and enhancing the company's profit margin.
In recognition of my perseverance and hard work, I was made the Branch Head at a new location.
Cocoa Industries Limited - Lagos/Lagos state (May 2006 – Sept 2008)
Fitter Machinist
Cocoa Industries Limited processes cocoa seed into products such as natural butter and beverages.
I operated between the workshop and the factories to produce the necessary machine parts, including pulleys, sprockets, straight gears, and mild-steel bearing shaft with keyways to tight tolerances and dimensions.
The MD/CEO recognized me for consistently leveraging my expertise to boost business value.
Repaired the salvageable parts back to the OEM standard. In most cases, some of this heavy-duty shaft comes with threaded parts and taper, achieved with lathe machines, under safe conditions.
Adept at working with blueprints, I read and interpreted the requirements/directions to manufacture spare parts.
Proficient at doing internal keyways manually, using a hacksaw and sharp straight file.
I meticulously conducted machine inspections around the factory regularly.
Shared a daily report with the workshop manager.
Spectra Nigeria Limited - Lagos/Lagos state (July 2004 –April 2005)
Machinist
Spectra Nigeria Limited is a food processing company.
I conducted routine machine inspections at the factory. The idea was to inspect the extruder and winnowing machines meticulously to note the possibility of a breakdown in any of the cocoa processing machines.
Depending on the inspection results, I repaired or manufactured parts. We had different types of gears and sprockets on those machines, which are indispensable.
I performed the turning work on the lathe and finished up on the vertical milling machine. After that, I cut the keyways on the sprockets and gears.
I made different types of bearing shaft on the lathe machine with keyways.
Compiled and submitted the maintenance report to the MD/CEO while ensuring safety in the workshop.
Ensured 20% cost savings at Spectra Nigeria Limited by developing an in-house capability and finishing projects ahead of the deadline at the company workshop.
Hold the record for completing projects way ahead of time. On one occasion, I finished a job within seven days, although I had a month to complete it.
