Urgents are always treated as priority. My work is done very methodically. My working duties are vast and I cannot put all onto paper. I also handle the chasing up of outstandings.
Director, (Dean Nortje) who specialised in Insurance Law Dean was also appointed the President for the Insurance Institute of KZN (IIKZN). Apart from the normal office duties that I performed, I also helped Dean with his IIKZN work. Typing minutes of the IIKZN meetings and various other documents. Helped with setting up appointments and meetings.
ADMINISTRATION
CMS
I worked on an accounting package called CMS. This is an excellent package. The time of the fee earners are captured on a daily basis. On or before the 25th of every month we draw pre-bills which are then finalised. Once the pre-bills are finalised the tax invoices are printed and sent off to clients for payment. Every account that I send off is always enclosed with a covering letter and addressed to the person who instructed us.
Age analysis was done every week to chase up on
outstandings.
Emsys
This is a system, which we use to capture the disbursements. All telephone calls, photocopies and faxes are charged to the proper matter numbers through Emsys. They are given S&W personal numbers, which they use to capture all of the above to each matter.
CRM
This is a programme where all S&W clients' details are stored. This programme can be accessed to get information on any company or individuals. Each fee earner gives the details of the company or individual that they would like captured on this system. Each floor has a representative to capture this information. I was the representative that captured this information for the 4th floor.
