WORK EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistance 07/2018 – 05/2020

The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas

Analyzed experimentally for optimization of thermal performance of an HP server in single-phase immersion cooling.

Simulated and modeled the processors of an HP server in ANSYS Icepak according to the experiment to be designed.

Worked on an airflow bench to characterize the fan curve and resistance curve to evaluate volumetric airflow of the system.

Published Paper: “Experimental Analysis for Optimization of Thermal Performance of a Server in Single-Phase Immersion Cooling”, in ASME 2018 (InterPACK 2019)

Assistant Mechanical Engineer

Swastika Engineering, Pune, India 08/2015 – 08/2016

Worked in a team to design (SolidWorks) and analyze (ANSYS) and manufacture connecting rod.

Responsible to complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings. Validated components as per defined engineering requirements.

Increased the production by 13.33% using cycle-time management for initial boring and face milling operations by changing different parameters such as depth of cut and the number of cuts.

Improved surface finish by using PCD (poly-crystalline diamond) inserts for finish boring and face milling operations and also by optimizing machining parameters, resulting in a significant increase in surface finish, reduction in material chipping defect, and reduction in tooling cost by 5%.

Led the team of 8, supervised the production of connecting rods (Ashok Leyland), and inspected the quality of connecting rods for defects, surface finish, tolerances. Reduction in defects from 18% to 15%.

Increased customer satisfaction by improving the quality of products by improving the finish of products and decreasing the cost per component by 5%, which in turn increased profits.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Kranti Industries Pvt Ltd, Pune, India 08/2014 – 01/2015

Worked on an academic project called 'Tool Wear Testing and Improvement'.

Designed the products in SolidWorks and CATIA from Auto Cad drawings.

Interpreted the reading of 2D and 3D CAD drawings and manufacturing precision components according to client requirements.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Sagar Industries Pvt Ltd, Pune, India 05/2014 – 08/2014

Monitored cycle time and wait times between operations to report deviations from desired results.

Learned quality control and different machining processes are done on CNC and VMC.

Gained the basic knowledge of sheet metal laser cutting.

PROJECTS AND PRESENTATIONS

Project Design, Analysis and Additive Manufacturing of Acetabular Cup (3D Printing/Prototyping)

Designed a prosthetic component used in Total Hip Replacement Surgery and successfully fabricated the component using Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM).

Performed comprehensive analysis on the lattice structures to obtain an optimized and lighter component without compromising on the part strength.

Project Design and Analysis of Compressor Retaining Ring, Reed Valve

Designed and analyzed a reed valve subjected to uniform pressure, achieved mesh independent solution by mesh sensitivity analysis.

The compressor reed valve was designed using ABAQUS CAE software.

Thesis Experimental Analysis for Optimization of Thermal Performance of a Server in Single-Phase Immersion Cooling
