B.E Project:

Title: Railway Track Security System

Scope: Crack detection System for Railway Tracks to avoid potential accidents.

Methodology used: Accelerometer sensor for detecting the tilted position of train the main objective was to design and implement a cost effective, intelligent full-fledged and wireless based crack detection system on railway track to avoid potential railway accidents. Accelerometer sensor used senses the tilted position of train which means crack is detected and the location for same was identified using a GSM & GPS modem.

TOOLS AND AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE

SCADA Software: Enercon Scada Remote software, WWIL Real Time Monitoring Tool, Nagios, Mars(Hughes) Portal for Vsat Complaint.

Application Software: MS-Office (MS-Excel, MS-Power Point, MS-Word)

Wind Energy Sector: Possess entire knowledge of Power & Control flow, functioning of each and every electrical cabinets, mechanical components of wind turbine. Position : Assistant Engineer (Control Room Operator-SCADA)

Roles and Responsibilities:

Acting as one of the Team Leads in shift, preparing MIS reports, report analysis, providing induction to customers, follow up with vendors in respect to issues, bills, Invoices etc.

Providing 24 x 7 support for SCADA Monitoring & Controlling wind energy converters (WECs).

Responsible for real time Monitoring and Controlling 6300 wind turbine generators of various capacities like 230KW, 300KW, 600KW & 800KW.

Remotely resetting the Error in the WEC as per the values in Fault Status Guideline File which increases the availability of the WEC.

Proactively troubleshooting and notifying the Area Service Leads and Service Technicians about any inconsistency observed in WEC functionality. Skillful in executing cross functional activities, major breakdown issues, repeated fault issues, frequent component failure issue.

Follow up actions to rectify the defects, performance improvements on the WTG’s.

Plotting Scatter chart or Power Curve to notify the condition of WEC’s if Curtailment, Non-generating or Under performance.

Rigorous condition monitoring is performed using different parameters like temperature data, wind speed, blade angle, capacitor voltage, yawing angle, analyzing sensors outputs which is related to breakdown failing to which preventive measures are taken to increase the availability of WEC.

Performing breakdown analysis and root cause analysis and preparing daily generation report for optimum performance of WEC's.

Rectifying the communication channels in case of issues and checking the connectivity using different IP addresses of converters (MOXA), Site SCADA PC,also addressed communication and VSAT problem.

Calculating availability of WEC’s, Grid availability, SCADA availability and also preparing MTTR and MTBF reports as part of performance monitoring on daily and monthly basis.

Preparing average wind speed report and also daily report of faults occurred which are recorded in SAP.

Responding and resolving customer complaints in effective manner.
