(Public Relations Department)

Duties

Membership Management –As a member of the Public Relations department team, during our outreaches, I sensitized the public (that is registered members of NHIS) on the need to annually renew their cards when due to avoid uncertainties when clients most needed to use their cards. I also ensured that clients cards that had been renewed either manually or online (but were inactive when needed to be attended to at the hospital) were made active so as to boost client’s satisfaction and to relieve clients of their stranded state.

In cases where clients had misplaced their cards, I sensitized them on the way forward.

Customer Relations – Here, it was my duty to warmly welcome anyone who visited the office for various reasons. This included finding out the purpose of visit (whether a replacement of card or new registration) and giving directives on the way forward.

Complaints handling – I attended to clients who had their names wrongly spelt or date of birth wrongly captured and ensured they were resolved. And that I contacted each client to relay the information that their problem had been resolved and that they could come to the office for a replacement of their cards.

I also ensured that clients with a mismatch of names on NHIS card and SSNIT (thus making them unable to register or renew their cards with the SSNIT which is less costive comparably with registering or renewing NHIS card without SNNIT) had been resolved since the names had to tally before one could use the SNNIT card to either register or renew his or her NHIS card

Registration of clients – This included getting clients details ready for processing.
