Contribute as a member of the senior leadership team in creating and identifying strategic plan goals and performance improvement and risk management goals each year.

Identify processes for oversight of patient safety in a high risk population, in addition to ensuring high quality care is provided. In charge of establishing a culture of safety within the organization, and creating a robust performance improvement program through the analysis of incident reporting. Using these data, QAPI priorities are established.

Served as project manager for many interdisciplinary research programs within and outside of the institution.

Tasked with creating clinical practice assessments and changes in practice based on analysis of quality improvement and patient safety outcomes analyzed data and reported quality and safety via case conferences to the departments and hospital administration created a culture within the perioperative arena that focused on high quality and safe processes and patient care developed evidence based clinical practice guidelines for nursing and medical staffs implemented tests of change for achieving effective quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across the perioperative arena and the enterprise.

Selected achievements which reduced patient harm and saved the hospital thousands of dollars: Reduced severity of peripheral IV infiltrations throughout the perioperative arena resulting in reduced patient harm implemented >95% on time antibiotic prophylaxis for reducing surgical site infections resulting in a reduction of surgical site infections implemented anesthesia inserted CVL checklist which resulted in zero anesthesia inserter related CLABSIs since 2010.

Reviewed data/evidence that was presented to the leadership that surgical site preparation should only be 1 of 2 options (chlorhexidine or duraprep) to reduce surgical site infections. After adoption of these, there was a reduction in SSI’s, primarily in orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures.

Proposed clinical practice assessments and changes in practice based on analysis of quality improvement & patient safety outcomes (e.g., timing of prophylactic antibiotic in operating room). Responsible for reporting quality and safety issues via case conferences to the department and to the hospital administration. Created a culture within the perioperative arena that focuses on high quality and safe processes and patient care. Developed evidence based clinical practice guidelines.

Upon arrival at Spectrum, there was no clinical research or branch to the business. I was responsible to strategizing and expanding the business, while also initially serving all roles of the clinical trial operations team until staff could be trained. Developed operating budgets, monitored departmental expenditures, and contained costs of multi institutional projects. Served as the project manager for both national and international studies focusing primarily on orthopedic trauma and outcomes measures.

Directed business strategy and staff in the development of this new division within company trained staff on fundamentals of GCPs, CRF/SOP design, monitoring, and CRA roles and responsibilities. Developed operating budgets, monitored departmental expenditures, and contained costs of multi institutional projects created SOPS, ensured staff and clientele maintained compliance, and provided oversight of all clinical, research, and regulatory services served as project manager and liaison with sites and key opinion leaders performed duties of CRA, project manager, medical writer, and medical science liaison as needed.

Conducted research on predicate devices, wrote 510(k) applications on dental devices, dermal analgesia, and drug delivery devices. educated and obtained

feedback from KOLs on medical devices striving for FDA clearance.
