While working at CGO I was responsible for the creation and implementation of Environments and Art Assets, working with their creative team of researchers and Art Director to build realistic 3D Environments for VR applications. Working as part of a team, I followed a high poly to low poly pipeline where necessary, utilizing various references to make the most accurate recreation of the assets I was Tasked with. On top of the creation of assets I also was responsible for designing the levels and environments in Unreal Engine 4 for the final product. Here I was also responsible for dealing with the lighting and VFX needed to give a realistic look and professional polish to our products. For everything that needed modelling I was also responsible for Developing the materials and textures. Utilizing a mix of Photoshop and Substance Painter and Designer to develop accurate and lifelike textures for the project, along with heavily researched references.

Contract Enviroment Artist

Harvard University

July 2020 to August 2020

While working for Harvard University's Theater department on contract I made numerous sets utilized in various plays that were preformed through VR and other digital means. During this period I took direction from a lead artist and Director and worked with a team to make varies assets and environments to help bring the various locations in their productions to life. Game Designer, Writer

Snail Whale Games

January 2017 to December 2019

At Snail Whale Games I was the main game designer of our project. While there I developed the rules, goals, as well as leading in the art direction for the game School Spirit. Working closely with artists, play testers, and marketing consultants I developed, published and published the game, participating in the entire pipeline from creation to bringing it into an online storefront. As the chief designer for the game, I also wrote the rulebook myself. Codifying how play was supposed to happen, as well as walking through the set up and introduction of the game and its rules to new players. During this time, I was also responsible for the marketing and management of the game as well as officially being in charge of the digital storefront and rights, of which I am still in control of. 3D Artist Instructor

iD Tech

June 2019 to August 2019

As an Instructor at iD Tech Camps, I was responsible for teaching elementary to high-school students how to build, UV, texture, and export prop and environment models for use in UE4’s level editor. They learned how to design their very own game level, with consideration to goals, user experience, mechanics, repeatability, and theme and narrative. Utilizing their lessons, students then created their very own levels with their own assets. We also covered how to use UE4’s Blueprint scripting system to create mechanics, animate, and polish their levels. I was responsible for leading the students in structured activities during break times, as well as running game tournaments and other fun activities after lessons had concluded for the day. The creation of lesson plans was something I was tasked with, designing exercises and lessons that tested and built student’s skills with the software they were learning. Lead reasercher, Environment Artist, and Prop Artist ManaTea House

June 2018 to May 2019

At ManaTea House I oversaw the team’s research. I worked with museum curators, garden administrators and university professors to build a strong solid core of documents, papers, reports, and books to produce our game Solace. Self-directed research, studying books and publications, and preforming interviews to build up an annotated bibliography for our game was one of my primary tasks. This allowed the other artists and writers to easily adhere to historical and cultural authenticity. Some minor translating tasks were needed as well. I worked with interpreters to translate primary and secondary sources, broadening the research base and allowing for the team to utilize a trove of previously unknown knowledge about the time period. I was the team's Prop and Environment artist in addition to my previous duties. I created numerous assets throughout the game, from clutter and pickups to mini game based assets. I ended up doing the texture work for all those same props as well. I also used professional methods for the creation of various foliage and trees and other environment models as well as their textures. Towards the end of the development cycle I was the team’s brand manager, designing and writing the Process Book for the game based on interviews with the team, as well as shooting, developing, and editing the game’s trailer and printing off promotional material.
