Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Remote due to COVID-19

Supervised, delivered, and oversaw day-to-day operations of the summer associate/internship program, functioning as a peer leader over 47 other associates in graduate, doctorate, and law school programs across the US and UK.

Successfully nominated Foundation to WayUp’s Top 100 Internship Programs of 2020, through an especially competitive process that included thousands of applications.

Negotiated four (4) Collective Bargaining Agreements – 2 before graduate school (2019), and 2 within first 90 days (2016).

Initiated and executed “Learning Corner” on weekly calls for the South and Southwest FL Markets, covering and introducing topics such as coaching, development, corporate policy review, Labor Law, Negotiation Tactics, Conflict Resolution, and latest research in Mgt. Science to frontline workforce to keep them informed industry updates.

Built immediate collaborative relationship with local union, directly contributing to over 50% reduction of filed Grievances

Led local settlement of an NLRB Labor Charge for Miami, FL location, coordinating assurance of compliance certifications and employee payments as primary contact for the labor, union, and location management teams.

HR lead on high-exposure embezzlement investigation: reviewed financial statements, corresponded with local police, interviewed frontline employees and managers, and reported to the Director of Global Security, Director of Compliance, Global SVP of Global Employment Law & Human Rights, and the most senior leadership in the region. Persistence in completion of the investigation led to trial and conviction of offending former employee.

Partnered with Director of Employment Law and Global SVP of Global Employment Law & Human Rights on over one hundred investigations, employee or labor relations concerns, and terminations of salaried and frontline employees; reduced employee relations calls to HQ (Speak Ups) by over 50%.

Coached leadership through risk assessment and change management initiatives to pilot a Customer Development Senior Associate position in Ft. Myers, the first such role for Large Format Sales in the country. Rigorous advocacy resulted in alternative action to the Company’s original plan to lay off employees, resulting in approximately 10 frontline roles saved.
